Hey everyone — I am 5'11" and sitting at 285 pounds. I am running 10 mg of reta right now, but the food noise has crept back in and I am not getting full the way I used to; I can put away a whole meal and still feel like I could eat more, which was not the case back when I was only on 1 mg. So I have been thinking about adding Triz to help with appetite and the noise. Any suggestions you can throw my way would really help.

On top of that, I have been parked between 290 and 285 for the past four weeks, so I could use ideas for getting past this plateau too. Any help or guidance is much appreciated.

I do not know, man... What works for one person often does nothing for the next... If it were me, I would leave your reta schedule alone and layer in a 2-4mg tirz dose, or .25-.5mg of sema or carig, then watch what it does to the food noise... best of luck with it... 👍

My own combo is 8mg tirz with 7mg reta — that is where I have landed. Mileage may vary, as they say?

nice!....and for the OP, what are your stats, as the kids would say (60 still counts as young to me) ?

How many months have you been on reta? Where did you start weight-wise? Do you log calories? What is your goal? 10mg of reta is a fairly aggressive dose...

Sharing my experience here, though I am no expert — just another one of the test subjects.

I began on Tirz and got on well with it. Once I hit 7.5mg I wanted a second shot each week to push appetite suppression further; I am a firm believer in splitting into two pins. Reta went in for the glucagon receptor. So Friday is Tirz 7.5mg and Tuesday is 4mg of Reta. My GLP experiment kicked off on March 6th, 2026, and I have not gone more than 5 days without movement since. The losses have been remarkably steady and, honestly, easier than any diet I have tried before.

Earlier this week I picked up some Cagrilintide for the freezer but have not pinned it. Once I am nearer goal, if progress stalls, I will add 1mg of it on a third day of the week. The aim is to bring the amylin receptors into play. My working theory: recruit more receptor types rather than keep escalating Tirz or Reta.

Are you doing them both in one day?

Good write-up, though I have to admit you are a lot braver than I am with the cagril...by every account I have seen, a 1mg starting dose is a heavy hit and not especially forgiving... 😳

I have got a couple of cagril and sema kits stashed away for exactly the situation the OP describes, but I would come at either of them like a lion tamer — whip in one hand, chair in the other...😳

When you are splitting two different GLP-1s, the usual approach is to space them 3-4 days apart...

Same here. I would begin at .250 and hold it a few weeks before working up to 1mg. Then I would let my own experience decide. Tirz and Reta have given me no sides at all.

Are you saying 0.1 mg for the Cagri? I have got some sitting here but I am too nervous to use it

Reta first, then layer something on top — that would be my order. I climbed to 20mg of Reta and then began adding .25mg of Sema.

This week I finally hit my first goal weight. Right now I am easing my Reta level back down; I skipped one of my split doses and will take 6-7mg on Monday (I split dose). No Sema bump for a week now — I am waiting on symptoms to return, mostly the food noise.

Sema got the nod because it was the one I had not tried, and it has produced by far the harshest sides for me, though even those stayed mild and mostly showed up when I tried pushing the dose. I had planned to kick off at .5mg/week and that was a mistake. The opening .25mg dose flattened my food noise. I would split .125mg twice a week and now and then push it to .1875mg.

In short: as long as sides are not the limfac, my rule of thumb is to escalate and hold efficacy.

I would raise Reta further, to 12mg/week at least. After that I would introduce 1mg of Tirz, watch the response, and go from there.

My route in was different — I was already on tirz before reta. Were I in your position I would add 2.5mg of tirz on a day that is not a reta day, watch for side effects and for any help with appetite, and then nudge the dose upward until it sits comfortably. Working out my own best balance took about 2.5 months.

I could not tell what your starting weight was, and that matters: being at this point after losing 50 kilos reads very differently from being stalled after losing 10. A rise in hunger combined with a slower loss rate usually just means a lot of weight has already come off, so the drug is now holding the line against regain rather than driving further loss.

If budget is not the constraint, Eloralintide looks like the strongest add-on on the early evidence — in the trial it produced an extra 11% weight loss over 32 weeks on top of 15mg of tirz, versus tirz on its own. On extra weight loss that probably beats cagri, which has only ever been tested alongside semaglutide.

Still, layering in some tirz or cagri are both sensible options, as is simply pushing reta past 12mg — that last one only really makes sense if 12mg is not causing much trouble; if it is, adding tirz may be the gentler route. Whatever you pick, cagri is normally started at very low doses such as 0.25mg. It is possible tirz quiets food noise more effectively than reta, which is the common belief online, though since reta produces more weight loss it is hard to see how it could be any less effective at reducing intake.

There is talk that eloralintide is gentler side-effect-wise than cagri. Right now I am only running tirz, though my plan is to move over to reta and, should the food noise return, layer eloralintide on top.

A 1mg opener on Cagri sounds like quite a ride 😮‍💨

How is your diet looking? Do you log your calories? Any exercise in the week? Sleep going alright? Are you only eating when actual hunger shows up?

If you answer those, we can see the whole picture, and then we can talk glp's

I have just taken my 4th weekly reta shot, layered on top of my weekly tirz, which I have been running well past 6 months. Tirz started at 2mg and I moved it up to 2.5mg and then 3mg in the months that followed, settling at 4mg for the last few months. Diet changed, sleep changed, and I train 4X a week for 1.5 hours, weights mixed with cardio. Across a little more than 6 months on Tirz plus those lifestyle changes I am down close to 35lbs 🙂

The reason I leaned toward reta was that I was nearing my weight goal and I wanted the extra health upside reta is supposed to bring. My first 2mg of reta went in roughly 3 days after that week's 4mg tirz shot. The plan was a month at 2mg, then up to 3mg of reta while stepping tirz down to 3, a month there, then up again to 4mg reta with tirz down to 2mg of Tirz, and keep going until I was on reta alone.

HOWEVER.....the way I feel and the way my body is answering the current 4mg Tirz/2mg Reta has impressed me enough that I am holding at the 4mg/2mg combo and will look at it again in another 4 weeks. If nothing has changed I will stay at 4mg/2mg. If I feel it working less, I will go back to my original plan and climb on the reta while coming down on the tirz.

On this 4/2mg combo my training sessions feel SIGNIFICANTLY better and stronger; recovery has improved a lot and comes fast (I am in my mid 40s yet I train and recover like I did in my early 20s, and that difference is far more obvious on the combo than on Tirz by itself); my food noise is SLIGHTLY higher than on Tirz alone, but if I put a number on it I would call it a 10% rise from the low Tirz gave me (that is, if Tirz had me at a 1 or 2 out of 100 for food noise, reta on top takes me closer to 9 or 10 out of 100. BARELY NOTICEABLE, and completely managable thanks to the healthy diet and eating habits Tirz built over the past 6 months).

THIS ALL SAID, please weigh this before rushing to combine reta and tirz: as far as I know, nothing published describes what happens — good or bad — when you combine Tirz and reta (I hear trials are running now, so perhaps real data is not far off). We can all speculate about the pros and cons of putting these two peptides together, but if we are honest critical thinkers we have to admit that we DO NOT KNOW, at this point in time, what the negative effects (if any) are. Keep that in mind, and think about your risk tolerance.
