I have just taken my 4th weekly reta shot, layered on top of my weekly tirz, which I have been running well past 6 months. Tirz started at 2mg and I moved it up to 2.5mg and then 3mg in the months that followed, settling at 4mg for the last few months. Diet changed, sleep changed, and I train 4X a week for 1.5 hours, weights mixed with cardio. Across a little more than 6 months on Tirz plus those lifestyle changes I am down close to 35lbs
The reason I leaned toward reta was that I was nearing my weight goal and I wanted the extra health upside reta is supposed to bring. My first 2mg of reta went in roughly 3 days after that week's 4mg tirz shot. The plan was a month at 2mg, then up to 3mg of reta while stepping tirz down to 3, a month there, then up again to 4mg reta with tirz down to 2mg of Tirz, and keep going until I was on reta alone.
HOWEVER.....the way I feel and the way my body is answering the current 4mg Tirz/2mg Reta has impressed me enough that I am holding at the 4mg/2mg combo and will look at it again in another 4 weeks. If nothing has changed I will stay at 4mg/2mg. If I feel it working less, I will go back to my original plan and climb on the reta while coming down on the tirz.
On this 4/2mg combo my training sessions feel SIGNIFICANTLY better and stronger; recovery has improved a lot and comes fast (I am in my mid 40s yet I train and recover like I did in my early 20s, and that difference is far more obvious on the combo than on Tirz by itself); my food noise is SLIGHTLY higher than on Tirz alone, but if I put a number on it I would call it a 10% rise from the low Tirz gave me (that is, if Tirz had me at a 1 or 2 out of 100 for food noise, reta on top takes me closer to 9 or 10 out of 100. BARELY NOTICEABLE, and completely managable thanks to the healthy diet and eating habits Tirz built over the past 6 months).
THIS ALL SAID, please weigh this before rushing to combine reta and tirz: as far as I know, nothing published describes what happens — good or bad — when you combine Tirz and reta (I hear trials are running now, so perhaps real data is not far off). We can all speculate about the pros and cons of putting these two peptides together, but if we are honest critical thinkers we have to admit that we DO NOT KNOW, at this point in time, what the negative effects (if any) are. Keep that in mind, and think about your risk tolerance.
