Bringing Peptides Up with Friends and Family

I don't tell anyone about it. Only my wife knows — she's interested in beginning Reta, and I'll assist her — plus 2 friends who, seeing how I changed, now want to begin as well. I share my perspective and what I've been through solely with those who seek it out and are very close to me, not with just anyone.

A good chunk of my social circle is extremely cautious—many of them wouldn't even entertain the idea of ADHD medication. The rest don't have any issues or goals that call for a fix. I'm still working on getting my relatives to accept simple truths about lifting and working out, so peptides are way out of reach for now! That said, if someone already has a spark of curiosity—like those who follow the social media buzz—I'd be happy to share what I've been through.

No, no, and no. A good friend went through bariatric surgery before I started. He's basically wrecked for the long haul. I've dropped 60 lbs. and not a single person comments or even sees it. It feels like everybody is wrapped up in their own world, so why bother snapping them out of it. My wife could use what I'm on, but she won't touch needles. So I keep this to myself, alone.

I never intended to suggest that I randomly bring this up with people unprompted, nor that I raise the topic out of nowhere for no particular reason. That said, if the subject comes up, I have no problem jumping into the discussion—particularly when what I’m hearing is off-base or just plain wrong.

Like I said, my children are aware, and my parents passed away a long time ago. We chose to keep it from our friends, so when they wondered why we were dropping pounds, we said it was a low carb diet.

Hey 'Squatch! Good to meet you—Neaderthal right here!

When you share, the only thing you receive in return is getting blamed if something goes wrong....

Your outlook matches mine—what I do is my business and my A1C's.

What’s the worst that could happen?

"anyone can pull it off, a caveman included"

🤣

At the moment, this is the subject I keep preaching about nonstop. I've been spreading the word about these amazing peptides to anyone who'll listen, and I'm glad to act as the go-between for a number of friends and relatives. I handle the reconstitution for just about all of them, and I even give my husband his injections since he's a bit squeamish about doing it himself.

First you've got the GLP side of it. After that comes compounding. Then you get into grey. And on top of all that, there's crypto. I'm not young anymore. Reading is how I managed to work it all out. The finer points are more than I care to walk anyone through. Teaching just isn't my thing.

I keep my circle small when it comes to introducing people to this. The risk of someone running their mouth and drawing unwanted attention from regulators is too real. That said, if someone is already looking into it on their own, I'm glad to lend a hand.

Watching someone go through a hard time and thinking, "a peptide could fix that," is tough. But everyone's path has layers I can't see, and it's not up to me to step in.

How do you all bring your closest people into the peptide world?

Not long ago, I told a friend about what I've been through. Everything from compounded Tirz to grey Reta. I passed along links to this forum, STG, the pep calculator, and Fatscientist.

I told her I'd be around for questions too. My approach is generally to just nudge folks toward the right resources and then let them do the learning on their own. Most of it, they end up working out themselves.

Take jailbreaking phones, for example. Back when that was actually worth doing, I did it to my own device. People would ask me to do theirs, and I never would. I'd tell them they needed to learn how it works themselves. If their phone got bricked, I wasn't about to have them pointing fingers at me or calling me at 4am to rescue their broken device.

So what's your method for getting friends and family over to the grey side of the Force?
I lean on that well-known line from Hunter S. Thompson:

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

(Simply swap in strange vials of powder from somewhere in china that make me think twice about choosing KFC)

A few people will lump it in with fentanyl or heroin, and view skin popping as no different from mainlining...

I suggested to my ex that she give tirzepatide a try. She carries extra weight and deals with high lipids, hypertension, and pre diabetes, so it made sense on those grounds alone. My main motivation, though, was to find out whether it might cut down her alcohol use. Even though our kids are 22 and 17 now, not little ones anymore, her drinking still isn't doing them any favors.

My ex went through the same thing with me, and the motivations lined up perfectly — that covered a 21 yo and a 19 yo too. Nice work, and fingers crossed!

My closest friend won't touch a GLP, no matter the price — whether it's denial or just playing it too safe.

Apart from my spouse, I keep the fact that I purchase grey peptides to myself. Should the question come up, I say I'm using compounded tirz from Brello Health (which was accurate more than a year back).

My approach is to start by discussing their wellbeing. Honestly, in about 9 of 10 cases, they'll mention something like "I wanted to get ozempic but my insurance denied it" — those are the folks you can connect with. Fed up with the pharmaceutical industry? Fed up with insurers? Resent being alive? Is this your final attempt?

Hand over to me your heavy ones, your broke,

Your chubby crowds longing to breathe without chains,

Toss out the miserable leftovers from your refrigerator.

Direct to me the desperate, keto-wrecked,

I raise my hand toward the grey entrance!".. ~ or something like that odb said.

A few folks I know who are on compounded $$ have asked whether they could simply purchase from me...my answer was, "absolutely fucking not..." What I did say, though, is that I'm willing to walk you through doing it on your own...1 of them is moving forward, the other isn't...

At 46, I'm dealing with perimenopause and a skinny-fat situation: 10-12 lbs. that simply won't move no matter what I eat or how much I exercise. Back in my late 30s, I'd dropped 35 lbs. through diet and exercise alone. So I dove into researching GLPs, and then I asked 2 people close to me — one of my best friends and my cousin, both of whom are heavy girls — whether they'd ever given any a try, figuring I might learn something from their experience. As it turned out, neither of them had ever used GLPs. The funny part? My endless talking about the subject led both of them to get on tirz before I finally mustered the nerve to begin microdosing.😂

It was my son who first got me into this. Around Christmas, I caught part of a conversation between him and my daughter — something about his wife using Tirz, and it was actually prescribed and covered by insurance. I asked him about it, and he said he was able to get it. After that, I looked into purchasing it myself. Somehow I ended up finding this place.
My situation is identical, except I never caught wind of it by accident. His words to me were that I ought to give it a try.
