that hunger can spike while titrating up? lol I moved from 2mg to 4mg today and I've eaten everything in the pantry. I'm running around the house after the damn cat with my last two slices of bread!

I cut snack foods out of my home long before I began Reta. If my roomate comes back with dounuts or cookies and leaves them sitting out, I tease him that he needs to quit bringing drugs into the house.

It might come down to several factors. Broadly speaking, Reta's appetite suppression is fairly mild, so willpower plays a bigger role. On top of that, from my own experience, the suppression doesn't kick in until roughly 36 hours after dosing, at which point I hardly want to eat at all. Still, no matter where I am in the dosing cycle, if tempting foods are within reach, the cravings show up every time — so I simply quit purchasing them.

I had plans to move over to Reta, but it turns out that going with a 50/50 split feels really well balanced to me.

My appetite is suppressed only mildly, and there’s no heavy, clogged feeling in my stomach.

Oh, just you wait until you hit 6mg. Those hunger pangs stick around for good. Appetite suppression does appear to happen for some folks on reta, but my experience has been the reverse. I end up more hungry; right now bread is my obsession too. A whole loaf can disappear in a single sitting for me.

For me, this never made sense since my injections were always at bedtime. But now I get why people do it in the morning. During those first 12 hours, while the shot is settling in, it hasn't really "kicked in" yet. Short version: I'm switching back to dosing at night.

Something I've picked up on while using Reta: the food noise mostly shows up only when I'm genuinely hungry, and it feels weaker if I'm drinking plenty of water. It's a kind of healthy food noise — I'm planning my next meal, but I'm not ravenous or grabbing food without thinking. That said, once I begin a meal I can still put away around 70% of my old portion (my eyes are way bigger than my stomach).

I've always eaten far too quickly, so now I make myself pause briefly during meals. On Reta that's a lot simpler, and 10-15 minutes in I'm noticeably fuller. Before Reta, I'd reliably keep shoveling food and snacks in after I'd already had some. On Reta, I'm managing much better at not returning to them a few minutes later. The last time a sweet craving hit, I chose a peach over candy and it did the trick. I think it's amazing that I can still get cravings, deal with them, and have the self-control not to go overboard. It feels like trading an old bike for a new e-bike.

Yeah, I’ve seen something along those lines too. That said, I’m doing a ton of training, so being able to eat really works in my favor!

This approach sounds appealing to me. Next week I plan to test it out. Appreciate it!

Reta behaves oddly, though. During the first 2 days, my appetite is suppressed hard. Then comes a day when food occupies my mind from morning to night. After that, for roughly the next 3 days, things settle and I feel fantastic. On that snacky day, I have to keep telling myself it will pass. Once my weekly shot is nearly due, I can eat, but I stay very controlled.

Thinking about it more, the cycle seems somewhat stronger whenever I have titrated up. My starting dose was 2mg, then 3, 4, and now 5mgs. These days my losses are so steady that I won't move up to 6 the way I previously assumed I would.

Boost your appetite control by using natural GLP boosters. My own routine includes berberine alongside the probiotic Akkermansia. Within the gut, Akkermansia raises GLP-1 output on its own. Berberine works similarly to a prebiotic, helping Akkermansia multiply in the digestive tract. Together they form a natural combination that hits a lot of the same metabolic routes as Reta. For me, honestly, it hit too hard — zero appetite, and I had to choke down protein shakes just to hit my macros. These days I use it only on days 5 through 7, once Reta's appetite suppression begins to fade.

The day I inject always plays out this way. Our shots happen on Friday mornings; that evening I make myself get food down, and it used to bring on heartburn. Once day 5-6 arrives, I'm about as normal as I ever get. Lately that seems to have stopped.

Perhaps I'll give that a shot. My injections were in the morning, and wow, for days afterward I was absolutely starvingggg

During the week, the less water I take in and the more caffeine I consume, the quicker I end up feeling hungry.
That's a really fascinating point. My coffee intake is huge, and this week — week 1 for me — 1mg just isn't doing what it did before. I'm wondering whether that's the reason, since starting yesterday the appetite suppression seems to be wearing off really fast.

My routine is normally Sunday right before I go to sleep. Today is thursday, and I have absolutely no hunger — not even the slightest urge to eat. What's frustrating me is that my weight refuses to budge, regardless of how consistently I hit the gym and how clean I keep my diet. Honestly, it's making me lose my mind. Lol

Yeah, my appetite suppression works much the same way. Eating is still possible for me, but junk food just doesn't call to me anymore. On Memorial Day I cooked ribs, and I really wanted them — until a sweet store-bought bbq sauce got slathered on. Once I registered that the sauce wasn't healthy, it killed the appeal entirely. There was also a habit I had of picking up Chic Fil A or McDonald's on the drive home from work, eating it before I walked in, so I wouldn't have to explain to my kids why they got nothing (No judgment, any parent has pulled that move). That habit is gone too. Last night, though, the whole family went to chic fil a and I ordered the cool wrap with apple cider vinegar dressing. On Reta, it tasted like an Outlaw Ribeye from Longhorn.
