What makes people choose Eloralintide, Cagrilintide and similar options?

Over a 4-month stretch I worked my way up to 10mg Tirz every 6 days, at which point the familiar side effects showed up: ringing in the ears and sensitive, prickly skin (allodynia). That ruled out pushing the Tirz dose higher for me. During those months I shed 40 lbs, then hit a solid month with no movement.

So I brought in Cagrilintide at 500mcg/6D. Nothing shifted, no noticeable response. Next I layered in Retatrutide at 1mg/6D, with each one spaced 2D apart, and saw only a slight difference. I titrated to 1mg Cag and 2mg Reta, again only a slight difference.

Eventually I climbed to 2mg Cagri/6D alongside Reta 4mg/6D, and with Tirz now at 12mg/6D, that combination finally restarted the weight loss. Still, the first 2 nights right after that dose increase brought skin sensitivity bordering on pain, and it was the first moment in 7 months of Peptides that I seriously considered quitting.

Since then it has eased somewhat, and I am not ready to abandon this experiment. Perhaps my goal was 2 ambitious? I began at BMI 40.0 and set my target below 30.0 BMI, which would take me from Morbid Obesity down to the upper edge of "overweight" rather than "obesity." I did not feel that was an unreasonable ask.

I will be honest: I have shifted the goal 3x since I started. At first I was tempering expectations, but the results have been so strong that I keep nudging the goalposts toward a healthier weight. Right now I am 7lbs away from what I consider the final target, a BMI in the 29.something range.

I'm on 15mg tirz and 5mg reta, and I can't raise the dose of either one because even a tiny increase makes the skin sensory weirdness a lot worse. I'm aiming to keep a 55% weight loss, so I added cagri at 0.25mg every 4 days to see whether that helps. It brings on mild nausea but also less hunger, and I can't tell if that leaves me better or worse off. Since cagri seems to make me fairly prone to nausea, Elora looks like a solid alternative.
Hmmm. What was it that got you banned last Saturday night? I also heard a female forum member got banned? Hmmmmmm

I'm interested in the reasoning behind going with these instead of the usual sema, tirz or reta.

To get past a plateau I hit while on 20mg tirzepatide, I brought cagri into the mix. At some stage I'll probably switch over to elora too (there are a couple of kits sitting in my freezer). This wasn't because tirzepatide stopped curbing my appetite. If appetite were really the issue, stacking a bit of sema would likely do more for me.

The appealing part of cagri and elora is that these amylin agonists act along a route that doesn't overlap with the glp1/gip/glucagon pathways. On top of that, the amylin pathways give extra weight loss, which is significant. The brain regions these drugs act on differ as well, so cagri/elora come with their own satiety and feelz.

I can see 2 situations where amylin agonists fit:

  • As a substitute for people who can't handle sema, tirz, or reta, or who don't respond to them
  • As an add-on for people who plateau on one of those

What's your experience with 20mg of Tirz like? I've been considering increasing my dose to 20mg as well, because I've stayed at 15mg for several months and I'm still only losing 0.5lbs/week when things go well. (And yes, at a BMI of 48 (69 F), I would expect a faster rate of loss.)

I came across a thread where someone had been given access to reta, and in that same thread there was a remark about banning users who post political comments. Since that person and that topic were being talked about on fairly major sites such as ars technica, I figured leaving a comment wouldn't cause any problems — but it seems I was mistaken. It bothers me somewhat, because I used to take part here quite a lot, and this is the only forum I've ever been part of. I got no reply to my emails, so now I have to begin from scratch.

I've been thinking about replacing my Survo with a different option. My weight has dropped to 126, and over the past couple of months I've become sure it's no longer doing anything. I've raised my tirz dose on 2 occasions and now take 12.5 mg; the survo is at 3 mg. The number on the scale won't move since I keep snacking and feel no real restraint. If it's sitting there and I feel like having it, I'm GOING to eat it.

That's just a panicky thought; you don't hold onto a 60 pound loss and stay somewhere between 126 and 128 pounds if your tirz quit working. I dropped 32 percent of my starting weight, so I outperformed the trials. Still, I really want to hit 121. I won't drop under that, pinky-swear, but I want to reach it, and I just CAN'T seem to. So I may replace the survo with one of the newer ones.

It might come as a surprise, but the rules and policies of GLP1Chat aren't decided by Ars Technica.

When we say no politics, that means no politics at all.

What you got was a temporary ban lasting 1 week. Because you chose to get around it by signing up again, this ID has been banned, and the temporary ban on your original account now has 1 extra week added to it.

Wow, and it seems like another ban came your way. That's really unfortunate. Your presence here was pretty solid, and plenty of folks were eager for what you'd share. Should you want to give it another shot, I'd wait a while and come back with an apology.

I recall that discussion — zippity and bee absolutely can't stand politics on this board, and honestly I get it. What's that classic line? I'm casting my vote for the giant asteroid to wipe us all out? Haha

I wasn't sure whether Zippity would actually let me return, but after some time went by, he did. And I'm glad about that — I'm involved in other online spaces, yet most of my time goes here.

If you handle it the same way, there's a chance you could get your original account restored.

My foundation is 5mg of Reta, and it's working well for me. If I ever need a bit more help quieting food noise, I keep a low dose of Cagrinitide on hand as a backup. I mostly reach for it when my calendar is packed with social events and I need that extra bit of support to steer clear of unhealthy food choices.

Edited to add: I came across this directly above my post AFTER I PUBLISHED IT. LMFAOOOOOOO!! 😅🤣😂🤣😅

I've been considering whether to stack cagri for appetite control while cutting. Reta's overall profile works well for me, though I wish it suppressed appetite more strongly. For maintenance I'm on 8mg each week. During bulks (I'm in one right now) that goes down to 2mg, which is enough to preserve insulin sensitivity while still letting me eat plenty. Roughly 10 weeks from now I'll begin a fairly aggressive cut, and I'm leaning toward adding some cagri instead of pushing my reta dose up even further.

throw survo in too if you're after a real punch — sure, elo works fine, but jumping straight into a hefty survo dose, say 2mg right from the start, ought to hit just as hard

Has adding a small amount of Maz into your stack, rather than servo, crossed your mind? During a point where things were only moving halfway, I gave that little combination a shot. For 1 month, 2mg Maz alongside 10 mg of tirz got my progress moving again. After that, I stopped the Maz and moved to split dosing partway through the week. I prefer to keep my system guessing.

I'm taking 8mg of reta and it barely did anything for me. My guess is that my medical background and steroid use are the reason. I haven't decided yet whether to try cagri.

Survodutide is a dual GLP and glucagon agonist that is still in clinical trials. It works on those receptors in a different way than Mazdutide does, though the two are alike. I have not used either one so far, but a lot of people stack it with Tirz for the glucagon effect. Maz is considered "lighter" compared with Survo. Its glp action is weaker.

Do you divide the 8mg dose across the week, or do you take the entire 8mg in a single weekly dose?

Last night I took my first Cagri dose, and I did so with a fair amount of hesitation. The plan was to stack it with 12.5 Tirz in the hope that it would get me past a stall.

I nearly held off because of all the talk about crushing fatigue. But one day in, the sole thing I've noticed is appetite suppression that's honestly striking. So far today I've eaten just half a sandwich and have no desire for anything else.

Getting that from the smallest dose is not what I expected. Whether it keeps working this way will be worth watching.

Tirz never gave me any side effects at any point, so I was eager to find out whether Cagri would treat me the same way.

Picked up a 1/2 kit of Elora through a GB that happened recently. The price seemed reasonable enough, and I thought it would be good to have on hand should anyone living with me decide they want to give it a go.
