Vision getting better

I paused everything for a while — zero peps — since I needed to get some exams done and I was also waiting on my orders to arrive. For the past few months I've been under enormous stress: loads of work plus major health problems in the family, and I'm lucky if I get 2-4 hours of sleep a night. (male 44)

Presbyopia kicked in over the last 12 months (and it came on fast, I have to say), and during these past few weeks/months it got even worse — I was reaching for reading glasses constantly, whereas before all this my eyesight had been excellent.

So I began bpc157, tb500, cartalax, kpv, ghkcu at 2 mg of each every day, plus ara290 1mg daily.

By day 3 my vision had improved dramatically (my sleep hasn't changed at all), and the peps are the only variable that's different. On earlier cycles I ran much lower doses for 1-1,5 month (per day: bpc 0,25*2, ghkcu 1 mg, kpv 0,5 mg, and tb 2mg every 3-4 days) and my vision didn't change one bit.

Anyone else seen their vision improve too?

Speaking only for myself here, and it has nothing to do with GLP. For the past 10 years I've normally needed glasses whenever I drive. What surprised me is that after a few weeks of eating low carb, I don't need them anymore.

Honestly, vision getting better is something I'd never come across, but something odd happened: yesterday I went and did some intro digging into peptides that might have potential for presbyopia, since my own is getting worse and it drives me absolutely crazy.

Sure, I realize I'm not getting any younger, but taking a look at what options exist can't do any harm.

Claude points out that certain standard drug-based approaches to presbyopia work through eye drops that constrict the pupil, producing a "pinhole effect" that boosts depth of focus.

Beyond that, there's SS-31 [ Animal research indicates SS-31 is able to markedly reverse age-related visual decline in terms of overall contrast sensitivity and spatial visual acuity. It has also been the subject of substantial research for safeguarding retinal ganglion cells in conditions such as glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.]

I will definitely be digging deeper into this.

If I recall correctly, both of those are repairing peptides... though they work on an entirely different scale (structural soft tissue and the like).

Since I've gotten caught up in this now, I also came across the statement that ''to date, no peptide has been shown to soften the human lens'' 🙁

For 7 months now I've been doing keto-carnivore OMAD and I'm not stopping. Steaks, eggs and butter are what I eat daily. Supplements are part of my routine too, but none of that has changed (the food, the sups, my sleep, sitting in front of a computer/cellphone all day etc) for a good while, and my vision kept getting worse.

From what I've read, and from what I seem to be going through myself, SS31 can bring about better eyesight. That said, both the reading and my own experience point to it being temporary once a cycle stops. Once I wrapped up my previous cycle, roughly 7 days passed before my reading vision returned to its usual lousy baseline. Right now I'm midway through an 8 week cycle, and it looks like my vision has improved once more. My guess is that it'll fade again not long after I take another break. Could be placebo, sure, but I lean toward it having some effect.

Yeah, I get that. My thought was that perhaps the peptides did something good for the eye muscles or the tissue surrounding them, which means they function better at this point???? Which would explain why my focusing has improved??

I'll check back in as I keep going with my protocol and share what I find. It's possible this is pure coincidence and the peps aren't involved at all 🤔

With age the lens becomes harder, and that is what presbyopia is fundamentally about. Muscles don't seem to be involved, as far as I can tell.

That said, if we're putting effort into improving our health in general, then maybe there's some benefit at some level.

SS-31 was something I was strongly thinking about starting soon (because of all its other advantages).

Now I'm even more intrigued!

Once I've done it, I'll come back and share what happens.

For glaucoma, my "bad pressure test" readings put me on eye drops....A couple years back I was sitting at '30', and these days I have come down to '17'...What exactly those measurement numbers are tracking, I can't say for certain, but 17 falls comfortably inside a normal, acceptable range....Timolol Maleate is what the drops are...

That's fantastic. Nice work, man. Truly incredible!!

Hold off on using any of it 'for now'...though if you happened to have some on hand, the urge to give it a try might get the better of you.... 😎 👍🤣

That's quite intriguing - according to pep pedia, ara290 does boost the retinal nerve area:

"23% increase in corneal nerve fiber area demonstrated in clinical trials, with sustained improvement in neuropathic pain" - Pep-pedia.org

If you're feeling effects at 1mg - that's still a low dose since pp suggests 4mg.......

Appreciate you sharing this- looks like I'll need to give it a shot for my eyes !

That's right! I've come across info saying ss31 does wonders for eyesight. I talked with a person whose eyeglass prescription shifted significantly while using it.

While I was pinning GHKCU and NAD+, I saw a slight enhancement in my eyesight.

Since I was pinning a peptide cocktail, I can't say which of the two was responsible for the improvement.

My mother deals with diabetic retinopathy. She alternates rounds of ss31/motsc and KLOW, plus 2 bioregulators (visoluten, vistagen), and she has also been taking mounjaro for roughly the last 5 years.

Sadly, she needs eye injections to keep the damage from getting worse. Her vision kept declining and her doctor wasn't optimistic…then she began the peps, and within 3 months (her appointments happen every 3 months) the doctor saw a massive change. The damage didn't merely halt — it began to reverse. The doctor was stunned.

My aunt went through something very close to this after she started them too (she's my mom's sister and she also developed diabetic retinopathy). At this point I'm a total believer. Having actual medical evidence from exams and data showing that these things work is a great feeling. I'm grateful that neither of them will be losing their sight anytime soon!

Sure, I'll work my way up to 4mg gradually — thanks!

I know it's selfish of me, but I kind of wish you weren't on such a big stack of peps, because then you'd be able to figure out exactly which one made the difference. 😅

At 56, I've been told my cataracts are "age appropriate" (really — WTF?) and that surgery is something I'll eventually need to plan for. If a bit of SS-31 could improve things, I'd happily jab myself more often rather than let someone cut into my eyeball.
