After finding out about Retatrutide here in this community, I have been looking into it. For more than a year I was on 10mg Tirzepatide, then my insurance stopped covering it. I have been without it for about 4 months, and now I am beginning again. Should I consider switching to Reta if the weight loss isn't as much as I hope for? From what I can tell, it may work better?

I've been running reta and have zero experience with tirz. Based on what I've picked up, tirz hits appetite suppression harder. Reta pushes your pulse up and gets your liver dumping fat into circulation. That makes workouts and staying active easier. Downside is worse sleep. So in my view: if you train, lift, keep moving and can tolerate thinner rest, reta wins. If you'd rather just eat less to shed pounds, go tirz. Plenty of folks combine the two though. Personally I won't push reta beyond 6 or 8 mg. Should I still be short of my target by then, I'll stack tirz in.

Jim,

I've noticed a pattern where you keep starting new threads for simple questions that are already answered elsewhere. This subject has been covered in many existing threads.

I considered sending you a DM with tips on searching, but the Red No Source Discussion banner might prevent you from getting DMs.

So I'll explain how to use the forum search function right here.

In the top right area of the page, click either the magnifying glass icon 🔍 or the word "Search".

Type "tirz reta" into the search field, then check the box labeled "Search titles only".

Take a look at all the threads that appear!

I'd like to know whether that search method works for you!

Tirz suppresses appetite more noticeably. With Reta, you get an extra metabolic route that tacks on another 100-200 calories burned at rest, though it does not curb hunger as much (none of this is hard data; nobody has actually measured the added TDEE). Reta also brings a few extra side effects such as RHR, while seeming easier on the GI tract (again, anecdotal). For dropping pounds I prefer reta, it is 100% superior, but for keeping weight off I favor tirz - a low dose with mild appetite suppression. That is just my take. Honestly, choose whichever you want, both are genuinely miracle compounds. It is like arguing Porsches vs. Ferraris.

Tirz and Reta will both stick around for the foreseeable future. Their approach differs even though the outcome is similar. Because of that, tirz will suit certain individuals while reta will suit others. The details are still being worked out, but my view hasn't changed: reta isn't going to push tirz out, and both have a lasting place.

When it comes to Sema... it should be, and will be, put out to pasture.

I see that certain people are pushing back on conversation and telling us to use the search function, which I do as well. Still, the whole reason a forum exists is so people can talk with each other. Nobody should be made to feel bad for doing that.

Questions that don't take much effort don't help get a real conversation going.

I see where you're coming from, and yeah, it's hard for newcomers to break into the discussion; still, @woundcarping makes a fair point—there are already so many threads about this that you could just hop into 1 of them.

How about starting a different topic instead? New members bringing something fresh is what the community needs, but repeating what's already been posted doesn't add anything.

It could also be useful to check out the announcements section and go through the Welcome posts. The links are there.
