Began tirzepatide on April 24th.

I realize I don't have a huge amount to shed. Still, 10lbs are already gone. My husband started on the same date as me. He's dropped 14lbs. He used to have a pretty serious soda problem, and that seems to have cleared up too. Tirzepatide has made it gross to him lol.

Beyond the pounds coming off, my husband is getting more movement in as well. These days he comes along on my walks. I've seen a big change in bloating too.

After 3 months on Ozempic, I never got results like this. I'm stunned!

Sure, it does the job for plenty of folks and it basically started this whole category, so fair enough, but...

Semaglutide / Ozempic / Wegovy really is miserable 🤣

Tirz has been nothing short of amazing for me. My wife is in a similar spot to you--only had about 10 pounds to shed. A very small dose got her to her target in just a few weeks. As for me, I weighed 230 pounds back in November; now I'm at a normal, healthy weight and my blood work looks good.

That's incredible!

Nice discussion. Also, well done. I'm almost at 8 weeks now. Still, one thing I want to say: watch out. For anyone on GLPs, my single piece of advice is to get your water in. Don't push the dose high. Aim to lose at most 3 pounds each week. Get your protein. And for me, lifting weights matters most of all. No fewer than two days per week. I personally do four days per week. That being said, if you follow the same routine I do, none of this is simple. Finishing every task is a daily grind. But everyone's different. Getting into shape is never simple. There's no chance I end up a skinny fat bag of bones. No FuKcing way.

I figured "pop" was strictly a Midwest thing. Had no idea you Canadians use that word as well. After I relocated to the south, it took 10 years of odd stares every time I said it before "soda" finally felt normal.

Whenever I return to Minnesota, I keep calling it pop. And I'm still puzzled about Milwaukee's name for drinking fountains—bubblers—or why folks in Iowa stick an R into wash, saying warsh.

It's been 22 years since I relocated to MN, and I'm still firmly saying soda.

Grew up in the Deep South here 👋🏻 everything is a coke 😂

Typical exchange

Me: "Hey, I'm heading to the store—need anything?"

Them: "yeah grab me a coke"

Me: "which one"

Them: "root beer"

I recall hearing something at some point—just a vague memory, not a certainty—that the word bubbler originated from those water coolers designed for 5 gal jugs placed upside down, where air bubbles rise through the large inverted bottle as water is poured out...

Glad you two are doing well. Here's to becoming healthier versions of who we are!

21 years have passed since I moved to Florida...my kids and grandkids live there, so we visit often. Whenever we eat out, I request unsweet tea, and my kids shoot me a look...since Minnesota doesn't have sweet tea.
