Howdy,

I've been taking Terzepetide since December, and I'm at 7.5 now with consistent weight loss.

I'm nonbinary, and I began testosterone to lower my voice pitch. I figure I'll stay on T for around 6 months or so, so it isn't permanent. Alongside it, I take finesteride so I don't get extra hair.

Anyway, ever since I started T, my appetite has gone INSANE. Before, I couldn't even finish a burger; now I need a burger, fries, and a snack afterward. Over the past 3 weeks I've put on 3 pounds (so 1lb gained per week).

Would y'all suggest I move up to the next dose of terzepetide? I realize this is a niche situation lol, but I'd appreciate any advice!

Thanks!

so this isn't something that lasts forever.

I'd look into it, because your natural levels might not come back. It could be for life.

Speaking from my own experience, when I began TRT as a guy who planned to remain male, my hunger went up. HGH then pushed it up even more.

So feel free to raise your tirz dosage if you need to rein in the appetite. Also, just so you know, testosterone tends to bring on a bit of water weight.

I'm not entirely clear on what you're aiming for, but for a lean bulk, reta could be a stronger pick than tirz. A lot of people into fitness and bodybuilding lean toward reta over tirz.

So what I'm picking up is that this is a shift from male to alpha male?

Same gender, only this version brings the performance extras.

Wait, hold on... you're aware that once you stop T, your voice will go back to its previous pitch, aren't you?

From what I've seen with women who ran anavar at high doses, it sticks around for good. Once the vocal cords thicken and virilization sets in, that doesn't reverse.

Increasing tirz is a good move. You might also benefit from dividing the weekly amount into 2 injections. And really, tirz still has lots of room left, particularly since some people go beyond 20 mg per week.

For me, reta has been great after about a year of mainly tirz. So yes, I think reta is likely in your future, or at least it should be, haha. My approach was to first combine reta with tirz, and later I used reta alone. The study results are so impressive that it's hard to dispute. Later on, for maintenance, even 1 or 2 mg of reta may work well for certain people.

You could also add cagri or elora on top of tirz/GLPs. When first trying cagri, 1 vial costing $20 can stretch quite far if you take 300 mcg each week. I keep my cagri in a separate case so I don't mistakenly take a large amount, as if it were a different peptide or a GLP.

Since stopping steroids, I now often prepare Asian-style meals to help reduce similar problems, such as hunger returning before the next injection (when the dose isn't split). My usual choice is Asian noodles with a low-fat sauce and vegetables.

Also, protein shakes with 30+ grams of protein tend to be fairly filling. I reach for those when I feel more tempted at night. Sometimes I'll have a starch, like a plain sweet potato. As for processed foods, I agree with McDougall that sugar and carbs make a better indulgence than fat. So my typical treat might be pretzels, Twizzlers, or a McDonald's Refresher rather than a brownie or cookies (unless I'm at Trader Joe's, haha). Healthy fats from whole foods such as nuts and avocados are fine, but portion size may need watching.

Because I'm vegetarian/pescatarian, my temporary AAS bro phase on steroids pushed me back toward a starch-based diet with more volume per calorie. For example, Whole Food's ready-to-eat barley with lentils gives a surprisingly good amount of protein (18 grams), plus fiber (15 grams) and carbs (78 grams). Blue Buffalo even puts barley in dog treats for protein, haha. I still eat 1 serving of junk food every day.

Thanks a lot to all of you for responding!! That really helps 😀

I'll go ahead and increase the Terz, and I'm thinking about reta down the line

What on earth? Anavar isn't something people use for transition. The OP already said they're on T right now.

Testosterone is considerably more androgenic than anavar, which is often regarded as safe for women and has extensive documentation of irreversible virilization in women. If anavar produced permanent virilization, I believe it is reasonable to conclude that testosterone would do the same.

Heya, I'm on T as well, but my doctor says the voice change sticks around — it doesn't revert. The sole scenario where it could rise somewhat is if the vocal cords hadn't finished thickening and I quit T. Even then, it wouldn't return to how it originally sounded.

I've also heard a personal account: my trans brother was on T for a while, then couldn't keep paying for it. Years on, he still sounds like a late night radio show host.

Since I'm aiming for a more androgynous voice, a slight rise wouldn't bother me anyway. 🙂

Just talking about my own experience here. Whenever my T is on the low side, my voice clearly drops back down .. obviously not returning all the way to how it sounded before puberty, but the pitch does rise. That's probably the reason you notice plenty of older guys who aren't using T and whose voices come out higher and squeakier.

When I started T cyp for HRT — I'm female and remaining F — the appetite side effect was something I'd been told to expect. I put on roughly 5-7 pounds, and after that it leveled off. So: not a surprise. Once that gain settled, my hunger normalized, though I wasn't taking a GLP-1 at the time. Could be that only time fixed it. With hormones it's like slow chess: you tweak, you hold for 12 weeks, you check… the ripple effects take that long for the body to work through. Half my thyroid was taken out, and despite the doctors knowing the replacement dose, titrating still ate up 3 months. Hold 3 months, then retest. Same story with HRT, except the titration went faster, so we tested at 3 months rather than 6.

Losing half a thyroid brought on low estrogen symptoms. Wild how much cross-talk there is.

Bumping the GLP-1 up a little is an easy way to keep things in check. What I keep wondering: once you lower the T, do you also need to lower the GLP-1 again? Might just be a matter of playing it by ear: if eating becomes impossible, ease it down some too.

Test cyp hangs around for a long time, so while you're coming off it you'll likely be adjusting week by week… GLP-1s need 4 weeks before they settle, so in a way you're juggling two lag times.

Hormone stuff gets messy — that goes for guys and gals alike — so my guess is it's at least that messy, maybe messier, when you're non binary? Or at minimum, there's less history of research on it. What I'd tell you is this: don't stop asking things, and pick up what you can from this forum, because that's how you learn to speak up for your own care. After you've got that knowledge, take it to your dr and hear their take. Then the call is yours.

Wishing you well, and come back and tell us how it went, please.

Speaking as a cis male who has used both, my appetite gave me the same impression. Even so, I kept eating and the weight still came off. Had it not been for my psa, I would have stayed on T

So many factors play into this choice, but having spent years in bodybuilding and using anabolics, if you approach it properly, the payoff is definitely there.

That won't happen. Such changes stick around for good.
