Howdy,

Ive been on Terzepetide since December, currently on 7.5 and have been steadily losing weight.

Im nonbinary and I've started testosterone for transitioning my voice to a deeper pitch. I expect to only be on T for maybe 6 ish months, so it's not a permanent thing. I also take finesteride to prevent extra hair with it.

Well, since starting T my appetite is INSANE. I went from not being able to finish a burger to needing a burger, fries, and a snack after. Ive gained 3 pounds over the last 3 weeks (so 1lb /gained a week).

Do y'all recc me upping to maybe the next dose of terzepetide? I know this is a niche issue lol, but any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

so it's not a permanent thing.

I would research that as your natural may not return. Could be life long.

Anecdotally, getting on trt as a male intending to stay male, my appetite increased. And hgh created another increase.

Go ahead and increase tirz dose to keep hunger under control. Btw testosterone will likely cause some water weight.

Not exactly sure your goals, but if you are trying to lean bulk, then reta might be better than tirz for this. Lots of fitness/bodybuilder types prefer reta to tirz.

ehhh .. interesting. you do realize that your voice pitch will regress when stopping T, right?

Based on all the women who pushed too much anavar, very permanent. Thickening of vocal cords and virilization is permanent.

Definitely up the tirz. Splitting the dose to twice a week may also help. Of course, you still have plenty of runway with tirz, especially with some taking 20+ mg a week.

Personally, I love reta after being on mostly tirz for a year. So I agree that switching to reta could be in your future or should be, lol. I started by stacking reta with tirz and eventually just took reta. Hard to argue with the amazing results in the studies. For some, even 1 or 2 mg of reta can be good for maintenance later on.

There's also cagri or elora as an add-on to tirz/GLPs. For starting out with cagri, a single vial for $20 can last a while at 300 mcg per week. I store my cagri in a different case to avoid accidentally taking a big dose of it, as if it was another peptide or a GLP.

At least now that I am off steroids, I often cook Asian style to help mitigate similar issues, like rebound hunger before an upcoming injection (if not splitting the dose). My go-to is Asian noodles with a low-fat sauce and veggies.

Of course, there are also the relatively filling protein shakes with 30+ grams of protein. I like those when more tempted at night. Or will have a starch like a plain sweet potato. For processed foods, I am with McDougall in thinking that sugar and carbs are better for a splurge than fat. So usually for me, a treat is something like pretzels, Twizzlers, or a McDonald's Refresher instead of a brownie or cookies (until I go to Trader Joe's, haha). Though are healthy fats from whole foods like nuts and avocados, some portion control may be required.

As a vegetarian/pescatarian, being on steroids (temporarily during my AAS bro phase) helped motivate me to go back to a higher-volume-per-calorie, starch-based diet. Like Whole Food's ready-to-eat barley with lentils is a surprisingly good source of protein (18 grams), not just fiber (15 grams) and carbs (78 grams). Even Blue Buffalo uses barley as a source of protein in dog treats, haha. And I still have a daily serving of junk food.

The hell? People don't take anavar when they transition. OP even stated they're taking T during this time period.

Anavar is way less androgenic (and widely considered female safe) than testosterone and has well documented permanent virilization in women. I think its safe to draw the conclusion if anavar led to permanent virilization, then testosterone will as well.

Heya, I am taking T, but the voice doesn't go back up, voice is permanent (as per my doctor). The only way it might go back up, a little, is if the vocal chords weren't done thickening and I stopped taking the T. It wouldn't go back to the original sound though.

I also know anecdotally as my trans brother took T for a bit and then couldn't afford it. He sounds like a late night radio show host still here years later.

Im going for a more androgynous voice so if it were to slighly go back up it wouldn't upset me, though. 🙂

Well, I'm speaking for myself. I've noticed when I'm low T my voice definitely regresses .. not all the way pre-puberty of course, but it definitely goes higher. I think that's why you see alot of older men not on T that have higher pitched squeaky voices.

As a female (staying F) getting on T cyp as part of HRT I was warned about appetite. I gained about 5-7 pounds then stabilized. So: not unexpected. My appetite evened after the gain out but i wasn’t on a GLP-1. Maybe time alone did it. Hormone things are a slow chess game: adjust, wait 12 weeks, check… the affects are cascading enough that the body needs that time. I had half of a thyroid removed and even though docs knew how much I needed to replace with, still took 3 months to titrate up. Wait 3 months and retest. HRT, same although titrating didn’t take as long so tested 3 months in instead of 6.

Missing half a thyroid gave me low estrogen symptoms. Crazy how it all cross-talks.

It’s easy to go up a bit with GLP-1 to help curb things. The question in my mind: when you drop the T down should you also drop the GLP-1 back down? Maybe play it by ear: if you can not eat then drop it down a bit too.

There’s a long half life with test cyp so you’ll probably want to play it by ear week to week coming off… GLP-1s take 4 weeks to level out so you’re working with two delays in a sense.

Hormones are complicated, in men and wemon, so I assume there at least, if not more complicated for non binary? Or at least, not studied for as long. My advice to you, keep asking questions and learn form this forum, it will educate you to be an advocate for your own health. Once you have the knowledge, run it by your dr. See what they have to say. Then make your own decision.

Good luck and report back, please.

I was in both as a cis male and thought the same thing about my appetite. But I ate and still lost weight. If it weren’t for my psa I would still be on T

There are a million things that go into this decision but as someone that’s come from the bodybuilding space and years of anabolicnuse of you do it right it’s well worth it
