Honestly, on most days getting myself to eat is a struggle. But then, for a handful of days each month, I'm absolutely starving. Every time it happens I start second-guessing myself… has it stopped working??? Do I need to bump up my dose???? Then it fades and eating becomes difficult again. When those hungry days hit, I do let myself eat a decent amount, since I'm consistently dropping 2-4 lbs per week and I want to steer clear of metabolic adaptation. Still, it's a strange sensation lol. I don't figure it's progesterone, since it usually shows up weeks ahead of my period (progesterone typically peaks the week before)

Has anyone else gone through this? What do you attribute it to?

I'm also taking 7.5 mg Tirz along with 3mg reta, and I add Cagri a couple times a month.

Yep, I’m in the same boat and have no clue why it happens. My current doses are 6 Tirz and .82 Survo. It doesn’t bother me since my weight loss hasn’t stalled, and just like you, I’m not about to mess with my bmr, so I keep eating despite it. I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts on this 👍

I don't think I've ever wanted a full-strength sugary soda. Lately, though, I've been picking up 1 bottle. I'll have roughly half of it. The remainder might sit for days before I finish it. I've probably mentioned this before: calories are what matter. I dropped my tirz dose from 20mg down to 10mg. Side effects are reduced. Weight is still coming off. A caloric deficit is the whole story. I don't consume large amounts of anything. Cravings can show up, yet a little goes a long way. Tirz plus my gut biome have, over time, gotten me trained.

Sometimes it shows up only a couple of hours after I've eaten, right before bed. My reaction is basically: what the heck, pull yourself together. Then it fades. When that happens, I just drink extra water. A full belly from water equals not feeling hungry, haha.

Staying hydrated is never a bad move!

According to my Dr., that's the way fat gets flushed out. By peeing it away.

For the past few weeks, I've been following the same pattern. Sweets don't tempt me at all now, though every so often I'll have half a bottle of Coke.

During the beginning of my time on Reta, my hunger would become overwhelming. I have no idea what caused it, though.

Whenever my urination goes up, my weight goes down. That doesn't track with my fluid intake either. I can't remember which day it was, but instead of forcing down my usual 1.5 gallons, I only drank when thirsty. I was urinating hourly. The following night, 3 pounds came off. Is that bro science? Voodoo? The powers of Fergie and Jesus? No idea

Every now and then, as you mentioned, I'll experience those hunger pangs, but they either fade away by themselves, or I'll snack on some nuts or carrots, and that keeps me satisfied for 2-4 hours...

From what I understand, roughly 85% is exhaled as CO2, while the remaining portion is excreted in urine as water. Your doctor worries me.

Every now and then, a really strong hunger pang will hit me. It tends to happen in the early morning, but it fades away on its own pretty fast, so I can just let it be.

Even back in the days when I was taking wegovy, I still experienced it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Maybe for a bit of a laugh: that only happens to me when I take the gummy. I describe it as Reta versus the gummy. The gummy comes out on top every time, except when my Reta dose is at the upper end.

Precisely — I agree on both points.

It's pretty messed up that folks go full reddit and get triggered just because someone brings up an actual qualified medical doctor.

I never even mentioned percentages. Still, think about it: dropping 50 to 70lbs. At 85%, wouldn't a person need to do some kind of house cleaning involving 85% of 80lbs as "airborne fat?"

Wait, you mentioned 20mg of Tirz?? Wow...

Stay true to your name and keep being elusive and legendary.

Every second we burn through roughly 1900 gallons of fuel oil — that's 160 million gallons per day — and I don't notice anyone sprinting around wiping up all that "fuel floating in the air."

Triglycerides, which are mainly what fat consists of, are built from carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. The mitochondria break these triglycerides down, and the ATP/ADP cycle turns them into energy the body can use, with the leftover waste being H²O and CO² in an approximate 16%/84% split. The water leaves mostly through urine, and the carbon dioxide leaves through your breath.

High school biology already taught this.

I'm not leaving. Learning is why I'm here.

So in what way does a person shed pounds by breathing out a substance less heavy than air?

Is it that the fat attaches itself to the CO2?

If carbon dioxide comes up as a burp, wouldn't that make us just a tiny bit heavier?

Give me a hand here. My school was only a mile away.

That mindset is spot on.

Burp out carbon dioxide—or really anything—and your weight drops.

Want a wider view on how mass and energy interconvert? Ever watched a sizable blaze?

These two shots were taken 50 hours apart. The white objects sitting before the pile and at the far right edge are 20lb propane tanks. So where did all that mass disappear to? Between those images, millions of pounds vanished.

Wood, too, is mostly carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen. Roughly 95-99+% of its mass leaves as gases (carbon dioxide and water again), while about 1-5% stays behind as ash, unburnt minerals, and the like.

This might look unrelated, yet it all belongs to the carbon cycle:

To go further.... apart from water, where does the bulk of a tree's mass originate?

Plants harness sunlight as an energy source to grow, pulling carbon from the air and building biomass. Cows graze grass for energy, we consume cows for energy, and we "burn" that energy, sending the carbon back into the atmosphere.

We run on solar power, and fat is our carbon-based battery.
