Hi everyone, checking in from a sunny part of Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🇬🇧

I'm only at the start of my reta journey, and I managed to get myself badly dehydrated after adding creatine and having far too much red wine across the weekend!

One day I had stomach cramps, then I felt freezing cold with chills, and even now, 2 days later, my kidneys are still sore.

I believed I was getting enough fluids and electrolytes, but perhaps the wine meant it still wasn't sufficient?

Because of that, I've chosen to drop creatine for the time being, until I'm settled into the Reta cycle, and I'll only bring it back after that (and possibly the wine too 🍷 🤷🏻‍♂️😂)

My dosing was 0.5mg in wk 1

Wk 2 - 0.5mh

Wk 3 - 1mg

So the dose hasn't been huge, but my guess is that all 3 things together produced this dehydration?

Anyway, I've joined to learn more about GLP's and Retatrutide in particular!

What’s your daily water intake like? Protein and water are going to be crucial. Aim for 1g of protein per 1lb of goal body weight. At least 100 oz or 3L of water. Add salt to your meals. On top of that, take a magnesium glycinate/bisglycinate supplement every night. For me, 5g of creatine every day was essential.

Appreciate the guidance, and apologies for being slow to respond…the new-user approval delay is a pain.

Water intake is now up at 3 litres per day, and I’ve picked up a magnesium supplement that also contains electrolytes.

I chose to stick with the creatine, so I’m just being careful to stay properly hydrated while taking 2 servings of electrolytes alongside 150-200g of protein — that’s all down to the advice you gave.

This Sunday brings my final 1mg Reta dose, after which I’ll move up to 2mg for 4 weeks…the aim is to get from 100kg down to 90kg by May, since I’ve got a cycling trip around the Pyrenees coming up.

With any luck I’ll cope and locate a low-dose sweet spot for my Reta. If I do, I might add a 10 week Tesamorelin cycle 💪🏼

Wishing you the best as you start Reta! 🙌

The guidance you got is already pretty good, but I’d add 1 more thing: keep an eye on potassium too. Potassium and magnesium support each other, and a lot of electrolyte blends are low in potassium. Most people find it simplest to get enough through foods such as potatoes, bananas, avocado, and beans.
