Hey, I just want some feedback about what to do next.

My plan is to change from reta over to tirz, purely to hold the weight I'm at now. Every 4th day I take 1.75mg of Reta. For roughly 1 month my weight hasn't moved, and I'd been using reta for about 3 months. What I'm after with tirz is a lower resting HR, improved HRV, and anhedonia that isn't as bad.

I'd like advice on how to make the switch, or for someone to say that tirz won't do anything for HR, HRV or anhedonia.

Start the Tirz at 1mg for the first dose

if you're ok, then within 24h repeat with a 1 mg pin

wait another 24h, then take a ,5mg dose

at that point you're good at 2,5mg weekly as a maintenance dose, and titrate slowly over time once the food noise gets too noisy

Lots of folks on Tirz deal with anhedonia. Around here, you'll find folks going from Tirz to Reta, or Reta to Tirz, in hopes things get better.

For some, the switch made a difference; for others, it didn't.

On Tirz, food noise seems to be quieter.

You'll likely find the appetite suppression stronger than you expect. If adding more weight loss isn't your goal, consider beginning with a fairly small dose, perhaps 1.5mg each week. Heartburn hit me hardest as a side effect, so it could be worth having antacids or PPIs ready.

Yeah, I've used reta alongside tirz (Mounjaro), and honestly, during a month on a low reta dose, my heart rate went up, the food noise returned, and I dealt with GI problems despite the low amount. Once I went back to tirz, every one of those problems went away.

So is it better to stop the reta altogether and begin tirz at 1.5mg?

curbing the food noise plays into this too. i'm able to keep it in check at the dose i'm on now, but my hope is that a similar tirz dose will give a bit extra appetite suppression

A lot of folks stack the two together. That said, if things are going well for you on the Reta amount you're using now, it might make sense to lower it somewhat once you add the Tirz. Some trial and error will likely be needed to figure out your sweet spot. Even so, Tirz on its own should let you drop pounds or hold steady.

For me, the difference was huge. On reta, the food noise returned in a major way, along with all the cravings—exactly the thing that landed me in this situation to begin with. So I abandoned the experiment, as I wasn't seeing any progress.

Sulfur burps were the only side effect I got on tirz, but the freedom it gave me from food makes it well worth it

on reta I already experience that occasionally 🙁
For the first several months, it hit me hard. Then I began a daily acidophilus probiotic, and the problem disappeared for good.
