I wanted to give my Reta / Tesa stack a bit of a push, so I bought some 500MG from a retail supplier — the same company that supplied most of my product back when I first got started and had great results. After doing a huge amount of research online, on reddit, youtube, and so on, I began with 1000MG each morning. Then something really odd began to happen. I was putting on weight. roughly 1LB per day. And no, before anyone asks, I wasn't eating any more and my routines hadn't changed. This was the only variable that changed. So I stopped it for a few days and the weight began dropping back off at around my usual 0.5-0.8LBs per day.

So I took a full week off and then tried a single 500MG pill on a couple of consecutive mornings. I wasn't gaining, but my loss slowed to closer to 0.3LB per day on average.

Has this happened to anyone else? Did I end up with a bad product? Or does my body simply not like it?

Are you certain about the units? I have not seen 1000mg pills being sold anywhere — what I have come across is 500 micrograms or 50 mg. A 500mcg dose is probably just a placebo, but 1000mg equals 1 gram, which is far beyond what the rodent studies used. If what you actually mean is 1000mcg or 1mg rather than 1g at a time, that is likely too little to have any effect. The doses worked out from the rodent studies come to roughly 100-400mg/day. I am not suggesting this, since it has never been tested in humans and no human dose has been established. Getting the dosing off by a factor of 1000 is a pretty serious matter — landing below what you intended probably will not cause harm, but being that far off in the opposite direction is a major problem and nowhere near safe, and the dose you describe taking is too high regardless. If you are going to use experimental substances, you absolutely have to get this right.
