Alright, the package arrived, the reconstitution went off without a hitch, a few things went down (no disasters), and I was less ready than I'd have preferred.

1. Needles – I've got .5 mg 31G and 1mg luers paired with 25G. For the recon step I drew with the 1mg luer 3 times (not great — 3mg syringes are the direction I'll head) and then, trying to pinch pennies, attempted to inject with that same needle. Go ahead and have a belly laugh at my expense; that needle was so clogged I could have ridden it bare-assed to town and back without a scratch. Luckily it's a luer, so I swapped on another 25G and it went in so smoothly compared to test.

My wife grabbed one of the 31G for her shot and bent it! That caught me off guard, and it looked quite dull, like she really had to force it in. I'm not sure how I feel about those tiny pins. I don't think she's keen on the 25G needles, though. She bled more than I did and ended up with a lump for a bit. With test I've never had that, and with tirz using the bigger needle I didn't either. Worth thinking about.

So if this is your first time, buy larger syringes for recon, don't skimp on needles, and be cautious with the small pins.

2. Reconstitution – is there a split in how people do this? Does everyone simply freeze the lyophilized vials, or do some reconstitute several vials at once to use up the Bac water? I picked up Tirz 15 and we're beginning low at .5mg weekly, which works out to a 15 week supply (though I do figure we'll titrate up — maybe we'll both turn out to be super responders ...). Since it's tirz, my understanding is I could reconstitute several and freeze them regardless. BAC isn't expensive, but honestly it's still a hassle to source and I'd rather not waste it. Definitely leaning toward 10mg vials rather than 30s.

3. Storage – is anyone else just tossing the little plastic box into a Tupperware and then into the deep freeze? That's what I'm doing right now, though maybe I should step it up. The current vial is in the same situation but sitting in the refrigerator.

4. Venting / general recon amusement – I already covered the 1mg syringe and turning the vial/full needle into swiss cheese. Besides the bigger syringe, I'm considering longer needles for recon and spare vials for transfer/dilution of stronger doses. Is that what everyone does, or do some just make more purchases at lower concentrations — T15 vs T60 or even T100?

And vial pressure ... I vented once and the pressure was fine for recon. But there was a lot of vacuum again when drawing for injections. I was aware of this, but I suppose it was more than I anticipated.

I should mention too that this started as just my own project, and then my wife not-so-casually hopped on as the supplies came in. Seems obvious, but I did what I considered reasonable research and had a plan, yet it's shifted somewhat. Glad I went with a kit instead of a single vial (not that I even entertained it, but depending on titrating up it might not have lasted long).

If anyone has observations or advice, I'm all eyes!

31g has been my go-to for close to 2 years, inject more slowly, aim for the fat near the belly, in and out fast.

if the needle bends when you poke the vial, go straight down through the middle.

blood shouldn't appear at all. are you working with 31g 8mm? is the fat around your belly where you're injecting? is the needle going in at a 45 degree angle?

a tiny capillary might get nicked once in a while, but that's rare, under 1% of the time, and only a drop.

99% of the people freeze powdered refrigerate liquid after recon. BAC water will last for months in a cool dark place as long as you sterile each time before and after

that's plenty for now, my advice is to put in some reading time, think of it as the cost of getting meds cheaply...

don't throw it away, handled properly it'll keep for quite a while, mine lasts months and that's true for most people

Pharma, trials, compound, and 99% of individuals start Tirz at 2.5mg

If anyone has observations or advice, I'm all eyes!
blood shouldn't appear at all. are you working with 31g 8mm? is the fat around your belly where you're injecting? is the needle going in at a 45 degree angle?

a tiny capillary might get nicked once in a while, but that's rare, under 1% of the time, and only a drop.

99% of the people freeze powdered refrigerate liquid after recon. BAC water will last for months in a cool dark place as long as you sterile each time before and after

that's plenty for now, my advice is to put in some reading time, think of it as the cost of getting meds cheaply...

Pharma, trials, compound, and 99% of individuals start Tirz at 2.5mg

31g has been my go-to for close to 2 years, inject more slowly, aim for the fat near the belly, in and out fast.

if the needle bends when you poke the vial, go straight down through the middle.

Pharma, trials, compound, and 99% of individuals start Tirz at 2.5mg
My mistake on mg vs ml. By trade I'm a heavy duty mechanic, though I also hold a first degree in Applied Biomolecular Science. It's been some time, but I've spent a fair amount of time in labs - in some settings that's pretty hard to excuse.

On top of that, I served on my university's first response team, where I received formal injection training (we had to practice on oranges for ages before we were allowed to inject each other). With test injections I frequently see a small drop of blood. My wife just had somewhat more. A lump like hers has never happened to me, and she also has a bruise. For a 90 degree injection with a Z track, there was definitely sufficient fat there.

My understanding was that most trials began at 2mg. Starting lower and titrating up seems to have a lot of precedent. I'm fairly firm on that point.

At the risk of sounding pretty defensive, please do not assume I have not done any research and have not asked any questions. I have a substantial (if dated) education in cellular biology and immunology, with a hefty sprinkling of related courses taken out of interest (like human anatomy). There is very good reason to be circumspect with responses on this forum as there are definitely a lot of peeps looking for easy answers, however, that is not universally the case.

Seems obvious, but I did what I considered reasonable research and had a plan, yet it's shifted somewhat. mg and ml are not the same thing, you're mixing them up

Intelligence and ignorance are not the same thing.

I'm not saying you're stupid — only that I could have gone on pointing out mistakes.. you might be building quite a track record.

No reason to get your guard up, just stay safe.

Best of luck, my friend

I suppose I could simply keep quiet, but that wouldn't be any enjoyable, would it?

Of course there's a distinction between intelligence and ignorance, lol. The plain insinuation is that at least 1 of them is missing - not exactly a razor-sharp bit of reasoning (second degree - honours English lit, minor creative writing).

Saying you're not calling someone dumb is actually calling them dumb.

I haven't been applying any rigour to what I write on an internet forum, so I guess you could carry on listing mistakes. Sorry for being honest? Am I a record holder now?

Then came the final piece of advice to 'be safe.' What on earth would that imply?

It's practically a catalogue of clichés you can batter every new forum member with whenever they seem too keen (except I'm neither keen nor young, nor after approval ... I could keep going)

Thanks for the repeated slaps - a blunt reminder of unfiltered internet reality.

Nothing you learn in school can truly get you ready for doing peptide research. That’s the reason places like this community are important; we exchange knowledge and support one another in following safer methods.

Reusing one syringe 3 times for recon, plus putting reconstituted vials in the freezer (tirz included), are not good choices. And bringing up Z-track makes no sense at all for a subcutaneous GLP-1 shot.

For myself, I wouldn’t begin tirz at 0.5 mg, nor would I keep drawing from the same vial for 15 weeks after sticking it roughly 30 times.

I really hope you take some of the suggestions people gave, for your own safety and for your wife’s as well.

Island, I'll be straight with you — around here things can get a bit blunt. Still, compared to how harsh this place can be, what you got was gentle.

When someone posts questions like yours, it reads like they dove in with next to no reading or prep. Every single thing you brought up has already been covered on this board over and over, dozens of times, and regulars get worn down repeating the same answers for folks who either can't or won't do their own learning.

I get where you're coming from with your background, but that doesn't justify the dismissive way you responded when the guy told you to put in more study time. I'm not trying to be harsh. Do the reading, pick things up, hang around quietly. You'll get the hang of it. Then come back and join in. Besides, the crowd here has the attention span of a hummingbird.

I'll give it a try....

OP, the issue here isn't really about proving your scientific credentials — it's about getting familiar with how the peptide process actually works in practice. So perhaps set the science hat aside for a moment and pick up the mechanics hat instead. You'll pick things up faster and run into less friction... 👍

Milligrams, milliliters, and units form the vocabulary of reconstitution and injection. These terms aren't interchangeable. Do your best to communicate using each one properly, so that when you describe your procedures here, readers can follow along — especially someone casually browsing who might be trying to learn something...

Venting is essentially a step within the filtering routine. There's no need to vent the mixed vial. In the best case, it will already contain a vacuum and pull the reconstitution liquid inside.... A lot of us do filter. That might be worth looking into too...

What quantity of lyophilized tirz vials do you currently have? If the count is under 10, freezing them isn't necessary...in fact, even when you have more than that, freezing probably still isn't necessary. Tirz holds up quite well...If you prefer, you can simply store them in the fridge.

@miameow offered you several solid points, and so did @Skidude...

That’s a fair observation. OP, keep in mind that everyone here is running on empty, so patience can run a bit thin now and then — but the intent is kind.

Dude.

You threw together some impromptu science and posting, then showed up here for what? Clearly not to receive feedback or assistance.

What exactly were you expecting to gain by creating this thread?

I’ve got nothing better to do at the moment, so I’ll take a shot at this. By the way, everyone who posted before me knows their stuff. These are all kind folks who just want to help you out. (Fair warning: a few people around here are VERY direct and won’t sugarcoat anything LOL!)

1. Trying to keep converting mg to mL back and forth just tangled me up, so I’m leaving that part alone. Around here, most folks reach for 1mL/100 unit or 0.3mL/30 unit insulin syringes, 29 to 32g, for GLP-1s. If the Luer locks are already in your hands, though, hang onto them. Pinching the skin sometimes makes the needle slide in without getting bent. For reconning, I use 5mL and 10mL syringe barrels (the 10mL ones for high BAC volume peps that I divide into 2 3mL pen cartridges), with 1.5” and 5/8” needles, and I don’t go bigger than 25 gauge so the self-seal top doesn’t get torn up. I’m a easy bruiser, yet with 6-7 pins daily I typically see just a dot of blood 1-2x per week. That’s about the same frequency as when I get acupuncture—1 tiny dot of blood in 1 spot out of 20 needles. Trying better needles might be worth it. BD & Easy Touch are dependable brands (others exist too; use the search function to find more).

2. Tirz that’s been reconned handles 1 freeze/thaw cycle well—it’s the “cockroach of peptides.” BAC remains stable for up to 120 days. A few people push it past that. Micro dosing tirz is definitely a thing, though usually for maintenance or when someone has very little to lose. The typical low-dose starting point is 2.5mg.

3. Storing the kit in Tupperware and putting it in the freezer is fine. Add a desiccant pouch or two, though. I found out that even a hydrapeak can get frost inside. With an auto-defrost freezer, if you want to be extra careful, put your tirz in a thermos/hydrapeak/foam cooler or similar to avoid temp swings—but for the powder it’s not really necessary. For reconned, I’d use a thermos since you don’t want more than 1 freeze/thaw cycle, and these little vials thaw very fast.

4. Look at my #1

5. If this is going to your wife, get some filters. Not that you aren’t worth filtering, but when you’re giving it to someone else, extra caution is good practice. Search Biologix on here…their 13mm PES 0.22micron filters are high quality and also the best price for sterile filters.

You’ve already figured out that reconning/injecting in practice is a whole different ballgame from theory! Read around here quite a bit for good tips and also failure stories (I overpressurized a MOTS-C recon… @Skidude and others helped me figure out my mistake —we all make them!)

If anyone has observations or advice, I'm all eyes!
mg and ml are not the same thing, you're mixing them up

About that 45 degree angle — I want to weigh in. A lot of the pieces I've read about injecting into subcutaneous fat say either 45 or 90 degrees works. My usual approach is 90, though I might give 45 a shot. What do you all think?

My kits go straight into a pencil case I picked up at Dollar Tree, which then sits inside a ziploc freezer bag, and the whole thing gets dropped into an insulated lunch bag. Desiccant packs? Never bother with them. If you feel like spending on those Hydropacks, go ahead, but honestly, keeping your peptides away from temperature swings is all that matters.

The one time I tried a 45° angle, I wound up with a huge peptide bubble right under my skin. 🤣

Oh great, another guy like this... I bet you're a blast at parties, but I'm blocking you since you're fresh here and already annoying my friends. Bye forever, Nancy Boy.

I believe the distinction comes down to 8mm versus 5 mm

however, if you're ending up bloody and bruised, something might be wrong
