NAD+ leaves me wiped out. Also asking about DISP and Semax

I started Reta back in January, and I've used MotsC on and off. My most recent order included Semax, NAD+, and DISP. With Semax and DISP, I honestly can't tell whether they're doing anything at all. I mixed the nasal sprays myself and take them that way. NAD+ is a different story — it makes me need a nap every afternoon. I've been taking it for 10 days, beginning at 25mg and now up to 50mg. Is this going to keep happening, or am I doing something wrong? I'm beginning to think I should dose it right before bed so I stop waking up at 5am.

I went through a few threads here, but all anyone mentions is the energy it gives them.

thanks for any insight on the matter

What's your IN Semax dose?
Roughly 2-3 sprays, somewhere around 200-300mcg. I put 10mg of the peptide into 10ml of sterile water, and I figure each spray is about .1ml

For me, that dose would be on the low side. My starting point was 250 mcg per spray, and I've since moved up to 500 mcg per spray. A total of 1 mg is what works well in my case.

🚨Why do some people feel worn out after taking NAD+?

Mitochondria rely on NAD+ as a key coenzyme, so in theory it ought to lift energy⚡️

why then does it seem to do the reverse?🤔

Here's the thing:

energy isn't handed to you directly by NAD+❌

what it does is raise your capacity for producing energy and cover what your body demands🔥

so when fundamentals like nutrition, electrolytes, and sleep fall short, those gaps surface first.😩

Think of NAD+ not as the fuel pump—but as the pedal that pushes the engine!!!

I pushed on with NAD+ for 2 months, and things just kept getting worse. I moved my dose to right before sleep, but my sleep quality didn't improve much. Selank is something I've only just begun, and it appears to be helping. Last night I introduced DSIP and ended up lying awake until 5am. At this point, I have no clue what might work. I'm beyond exhausted from feeling tired all the time while still not being able to sleep.

Doxylamine Succinate is worth a shot. Ebay has it.

A dose of just 25mg alongside 10mg melatonin will have you sleeping like a baby

On the days I pin Reta (Friday), taking 1 mg of NA Selank SQ roughly 1-2 hours ahead of bedtime helps me fall asleep. Currently I'm going through a washout period, and the initial 3 nights after it began were awful.

Sounds like we have a fair bit in common. I am about to begin week 2 of this cycle:

  • NA-Selank Amidate (800 mcg - 1400 mcg), 3 hours ahead of bed. How much i take tracks the stress the day threw at me.
  • DSIP (300 mcg on work days, 400-500 mcg when i can sleep in), 1.5 hours ahead of bed,
  • Pinealon (2.5 mg), 15-30 minutes ahead of bed
  • NA-Epitalon (3 mg), 15-30 minutes ahead of bed
Everything subcutaneously. 21 days, perhaps 28 if i stretch it out. Day 1 or 2 the gains were subtle, with a 20% bump in Deep Sleep + REM against my 30 day medians. In practice that is only 12 extra minutes on top of my usual 55 minutes (out of 6.25 total hours).

Once day 4 came round, it properly kicked in. Over the past 2 nights i logged 1h 48m (~98% increase) and 1h 56m (~108% increase) of deep sleep + REM, from 6h 45m and 6h 50m total respectively. That is more than double.

I wake up far more rested and getting out of bed is easier now. Mood is better, motivation a touch better too… Though i am a bit nervous about the time off-cycle…

My selank is just the plain kind, not NA Selank. I turned a single vial into a nasal spray, though I'd happily switch to subq if that's more effective. Fingers crossed that lacking the NA version won't be too awful. Before yesterday evening, I managed to drift off near 1am — way better than the 3am I'd been stuck at, and definitely better than the 5am from the night before. I'm thinking about bumping up the DSIP. Last night was 250mcg, so perhaps I'll go to 500. Since I'm self-employed and work from home, my schedule for waking up is looser than most people's.

With NA Selank (and Amidate), the only real difference is that it sticks around in your system longer. It doesn't look like the potency shifts much either way. That being the case, your schedule might need a dose somewhere around 5 or 6, followed by another one at 9:30-10:00.

About NAD+: at first I took 50mg, later 100mg, and all I got was fatigue. I dropped to 25mg and kept that dose for a stretch with no noticeable change. I figured I'd just finish the kit. But once I introduced SS31, everything shifted—I got a sudden rush of energy. Is that from SS31 alone, or are the two working together? I don't know, but I feel good. I'll wrap up this SS31 cycle and then keep going with Mots C/Nad+.

What's the SS-31 dosage in mg?

Right now my dose is 5mg/day.

When people take NAD+, is the main goal usually an energy boost? Since starting reta, my wife has noticed others using it for wrinkles and anti-aging, so I'm digging into it. Based on what I've read here so far, the energy angle doesn't seem very convincing. Could ss-31 by itself have produced the same result?

Honestly, NAD+'s main role is in energy metabolism, with anti-aging coming after that. Why other people take it, I can't say, but the energy lift is what I'm after. As for anti-aging effects, I haven't noticed any so far.

Is ADHD something you have? I haven't come across any real studies on it, but from talking to many people who have ADHD, anything that typically boosts energy ends up making them sleepy — me too. Since things like caffeine, which are stimulants, can do this to people with ADHD, I was just wondering.
