Moving off Reta — which other GLP-1R agonist should come first?

My own retatrutide run went up to 12 mg, and other than severe bloating it appeared to do nothing. No appetite suppression came out of it, and my food noise stayed put. At the lower doses there may have been a slight effect early on, but it disappeared quickly. What I want isn’t dramatic weight loss; it’s a tool that helps me stick to a decent diet and a moderate calorie deficit so my physical and mental health can improve. Dropping somewhere around 5 - 8 kg (11 - 18 lbs) would probably do me good, but right now my only aim is something that damps appetite and possibly food noise, freeing my (mental) energy for things that actually produce something.

A kit of tirzepatide, semaglutide and cagrilintide arrived recently. I’m currently 2 weeks off retatrutide and before long I’ll be trialling one of those three, and if needed stacking the amylin analogue on top of a GLP-1. Obviously slow is what I want, rather than throwing the kitchen sink at it, so which compound deserves the first try is what I’m wondering.

Also, anyone who has been through something like this with Reta and moved to a different compound — I’d love to hear how it went.

Plenty of recent posts have people feeling let down by reta, me among them. Reading about folks on 2mg getting incredible results makes me a lil jelly. There’s a big tirz cult around here, I think you’ll fit right in.

It hasn’t escaped me that tirzepatide gets recommended over the other GLPs by a great many people. Your comment just adds to the case that this is likely the better pick in my situation, thanks.

Tirz Cult member here, and yeah, reading your description of what you were after my thought was definitely Tirz, it fits you. Side effects from Sema hit a lot of people harder.

Reta works on me - and keeps working - about as well as it can. Going above 3.5mg/week was never necessary. My wife dropped 35lb without ever exceeding 2.5mg/week. Nothing shreds fat the way Reta does and for the people it agrees with it’s the best .. that’s been my observation anyway. Good luck!

Did you start straight on tirzepatide, or have some of the other glp1s been through the rotation?

Individual variation in response looks like it’s huge, possibly down to genetic polymorphisms.

Hahahhahahaha calling myself a cult member would never have crossed my mind, yet here we are.

Tirz cult member #2 reporting.....Tirz is the one I love, and Reta plus cag are waiting in the barrel should I want or needs it tho

A second thread inside an hour where Reta takes a beating. The trend seems clear. Some (2x R24 kits) of it sit here too, but they’ll likely never get used. Steam is going out of the hype train.

Tirz has been my only one. Reta is sitting in the freezer just in case, though I feel no urge to crack it open.

My dollar would go on Bunk Reta circulating out there. 2 batches I’ve got now simply don’t work well. What I buy from Peptidology still does the job, the others are weaker and/or do nothing at all. Reta looks hard to manufacture, and proteins can always end up misfolded while still testing fine.

Real Retatrutide in the trials sits at a 100% success rate.

Peptidology gets praised in what Ive read, but am I reading right that they are single vial? If so, wow, pretty $$.

Linking bad Reta to the rise in "it isn’t working" had never occurred to me, but you may be onto something.

Both Tirz and Reta are in my rotation. What puzzles me is Reta users who complain that their food noise went unsuppressed. Where food noise suppression matters most, Tirz is the one to pick. Mine is a combo, which holds titration down while getting what Reta and what Tirz each offer. The combination is awesome.

Tirz is what I moved to after Reta. Reta f’d me up way too much. So far Tirz has given me no sides. Appetite suppression has come from neither.

tirz cult member #3 here! it did right by me. roughly 90lbs of my 135lbs weightloss is thanks to it. my 5mg trial only lasted a couple months before insurance coverage went away and i stopped, which was before finding this place. now im back on 2.5 a week, with 3,300mg sitting in the freezer lol (my wife is back on it too after childbirth so the stockpile keeps growing). covered for a while is where ill be, and coming off isnt in my plans purely for the other benefits

Yes, side effects are common, particularly once the dose goes up. The people who stay the course do lose the weight.

My 7th (Tirz)shot went in just now. Weight to lose and feeling better is what I want too, same as you. 6 weeks of better eating habits (food choices) plus exercise and 10 lbs are off. Starting 2.5 for 4 weeks, then up to 3 MG. Staying on a LOW dose appeals to me, maybe with Reta (when I get it) added at a low dose to see how the two behave in tandem with one another. The reta was a group buy and those take longer, so I may be at my goal by the time it lands, but we shall see. One thing I have noticed is that Tirz has really helped with inflammation elsewhere in my body (fingers, knees, even my feet feel happier). Low dose first would be my approach, tapering up SLOWLY to dodge the ugly side effects.

One thing that is very wierd tbh is how far the experience reported on the forum side diverges from what the clinical trails show.

Mine went through group testing, so that route is not an option for me. A new vial got tried as well, and it didn’t change anything. It is possible the generic version differs in some unique way, though that would seem unlikely to me.
