Hi everyone, I’m on Mounjaro 2.5 mg at the moment and have just done my fifth dose.

I’ve been reading about TR20, so tirzepatide 20 mg, and wanted to ask if anyone here has switched from Mounjaro to tirzepatide out of a 20 mg vial while staying on a similar 2.5 mg weekly dose.

I would really like to hear how that went for you, especially on effectiveness, appetite control, side effects, dosing consistency, and whether the change felt about the same overall.

Thanks in advance for anything you can share.

Nothing changes—simply continue at your current dosage when you make the swap.

Since Mounjaro is Trizepatide, you'd stay at 2.5mg, use 2ml Bac Water, pull 25 Units to get 2.5mg, and 1 Vial gives you 8 Injections

That's right.

The only 2 things that matter are: 1. Whether what you're getting is genuine (meaning the right peptide at the right strength), and 2. Whether it's clean (free of endotoxins, like the ones shown on the banner recently). Beyond that, you're all set!

I moved from a .5mg wegovy dose over to grey market semaglutide that comes in 10mg vials. So .. a similar situation.

#1 - The medication itself made no difference. My appetite stayed under control and I kept losing weight. The only real change was that it cost me a heck of a lot less.

#2 - Because I inject with a pen that uses a cartridge, actually taking the shot is no different either.

#3 - What really changes is that you prepare the injection pen on your own and work out your own doses. As long as whoever does this researches it and double checks the math, I am sure that 99% of people will be ok on their doses. Stick to good hygiene protocols EVERY SINGLE TIME and I am sure that 99% of us will avoid any infections as well.

I appreciate the support. The one hurdle I'm running into is locating reusable injection pens in Austria/Europe that work with the vials I have.

The cartridges are available on Aliexpress as well as the pens.

They likely aren't the top-tier option out there .. still, they're a decent place to begin.

I recently picked up 2 Lilly Humapen Savvio pens through PharmaGiant, which is based in Canada. The whole process went off without a hitch, and they sent the package across borders to the US. It could be worth asking whether they also deliver to Europe. I own a few V2 pens as well, and honestly, their quality seems on par with the Savvio. You can find those pretty much everywhere.

And what kind of blank vials are you inserting into the humaPen?
A vial isn't what you'd use. Nearly every pen takes a 3ml cartridge.

I picked up KS-tek cartridges from their site and have been running them in 2 Convipens plus a Gensupen with no problems. Because the peptides go into a cart, I'd also suggest filtering — it adds almost no extra effort to filter!

@Eth62 these are solid pointers. One thing I'd tack on: before you buy cartridges, check whether the seller already sterilized them or whether that step is left to you. The cartridges I get come from a vendor that is considered reputable and that claims to steam-sterilize the packages. On the outside box there's an indicator that supposedly flips to black once sterilization has happened. That said, I've come across claims that this kind of marker can be "forged". An auto-clave is definitely not something I have. My home research lab can only hold so much 😂🙃.

When you zoom out, lab supplies don't cost much, so my approach is to put in the effort to locate top-quality sources for them. Filtering peptides into a cartridge that isn't sterile would be pointless, wouldn't it?

Thank you, everyone. Everything shared here has been quite useful. Right now, the only carts I’ve managed to locate are V1/V2.

What kind of filter would you suggest?

Thanks.

For the Humapen Savvio, the cartridges match those used by the V1/V2 — no special cartridge is required, just the standard 3mL pen carts. I believe a Novo Nordisk pen out there relies on proprietary components, though I can't recall which model. According to Lilly's Savvio promotional material, their cartridges are the only ones you're allowed to use, which isn't accurate. The documentation for my Tork paper hand towel dispenser made a similar claim....that only Tork products work with it 😂.

I go with a .22μm PES 13mm and also aim to source reputable brandname supplies in that category. Temu filters are not for me.. Tisch, Biologix, and others are recognizable names. Simply browse the forum online. The search bar is your friend....

I'm fairly confident those cartridges follow a standard. I've never come across any that were marked as a specific kind. If I'm mistaken about that, somebody please speak up.

The cartridges are identical. Here's what Lilly says..... My take is they're trying to make folks believe that only their 3mL insulin carts will work, and no other cartridge can be used.

Classic EL, looking out for us against our own choices. 😂

You all are awesome—when I was looking into it, I was sure the offbrand cartridges wouldn’t work with those brand pens. Thx

I've come across claims repeatedly that non-name-brand pens using cartridges tend to have inconsistent dosing. If you're considering trying pens like that, it might be worth testing them with water first.
