This newbie completed her very first crypto buy! She chose a hard-to-locate vendor (getting a log in alone required jumping through hoops) that has an extremely strong reputation, and made a transaction using USDC/sol. Today my order showed up, and I'm thrilled beyond words!

THEN today I contacted another vendor I've done well with before. This one used to accept direct bank transactions, but that's no longer an option. They sent me BTC instructions, which feel too volatile for me, so I inquired about USDC. Their reply was “yes, dear friend ❤️” along with USDC on BEP20 instructions.

Now, figuring THAT out was quite a stretch, plus buying additional USDC/sol on the .com, then moving it into my Exodus wallet, and then swapping. Yet she received the small practice amount I sent her!! On the very first attempt!!

So yes, this whole thing is a massive hassle, and as I move through these steps I really do sense that I'm leaving little bits of money scattered around everywhere, on top of simply paying transaction fees, but once you get the hang of it, it's manageable.

Nice work - yeah, that feeling is fantastic. Getting crypto through Binance had me going in circles - several banks wouldn't let me deposit into Binance, but in the end I managed it by funding through Revolut. After that came total paranoia ... "Is this the correct crypto I'm buying", "Is this the right address I'm sending to" and so forth. I first sent a tiny test payment, and after it showed as received, I sent the whole amount.

I get it. It took me a little while to work out, and I felt like my 80 year old mom with her first smart phone, but after you get the hang of it, it clicks and it's not nearly as rough as it looked at the start.

About 2 weeks back, I did my initial buy in that same manner. Before anything else, I went through this forum, then got google gemini to guide me through each stage, which calmed my nerves. Any AI platform should do the trick, I'm sure.

Yep, absolutely. AI is clued in on crypto. Without Grok helping me out, I never would have figured out that BEP20 stuff.

What a smart approach. Using AI for help never crossed my mind. Sure, I've saved every useful guide from this place and other spots, and I've bookmarked the advice posts too—but making myself actually sit down and go through with it? Still haven't managed that.

A PDF guide is circulating out there that was useful to me. I can't remember whether it was on here, in another group, or possibly Discord. It breaks things down step by step and really makes it easier to grasp

I put things off too — notes, bookmarks, the whole routine. The moment I finally got down to it and went for it, I couldn't help but feel ridiculous about the delay.

Nice work! I can still recall when I first got into crypto in 2017, sitting there with my phone, impatiently waiting for transactions to go through!

I'm fully aware that I'll regret dragging my feet all this time, without a doubt. That said, knowing how I operate, it's either going to go one of 2 ways: I nail the whole setup on my first attempt and give myself a pat on the back for being so clever/smart/skilled, or I botch no fewer than 3 steps somewhere in the process and then avoid touching it again for months. 🤣

Glad things worked out for you! My own experience has been nothing but headaches. At first I used a PDF someone shared in here, and it was solid, but once I grabbed Exodus there wasn't any option to create a wallet... after I said I wanted to make a purchase, I ended up on MoonPay... so I went ahead with that, photo ID, then the Bio-scan, and no matter what it just won't verify my scan after 100 attempts. I reached out to their help chat, and after we talked they said it had to be escalated and I should watch for an email. So now I'm waiting... and while I do, I'm not even sure whether I have an Exodus wallet at all. Exodus never once asked me for the 12 word security phrase. Man, for me this crypto stuff is a pain.
