Is it normal to have no side effects at all?

Good Morning!

I bought an rt10 kit from a vendor. I chose to begin at a higher dose, 4 mg per week, since I had already spent a couple of months on tirz and assumed I could likely tolerate the side effects at a higher dose. I have seen discussions about skin sensitivity and all the usual stomach-related side effects. What strikes me as very suspicious is that I have experienced none of those things, and I am 4 weeks in. I told myself I should be patient before accusing the vendor of scamming me. Now, because I am hyper focused, I cannot tell whether I am actually feeling anything or not. I have read so many threads from people saying they started on .5 mg or 2 mg and could not eat because of the appetite suppression. Some feedback from experienced reta users would be nice. Also, if it is a vendor from here, am I allowed to discuss who they are on this thread, for example? I am fairly new and do not want to get in trouble.

Ps. Forgot to add that this week I went up to 8 mg. If anyone is wondering why I chose the dosage I chose, I am following the dosages of one of the test trials only that I skipped the 2 mg month

I never experienced any of those “feels” sides until I reached 16mg/week, taken as 2 split doses. Slight lower GI issues, a touch of bleh sensation near the peak.

RHR was clearly noticeable earlier on, but I’m not feeling that.

Everyone responds differently — since you were on tirz before, your body might already be somewhat acclimated.

Going straight from 4mg to 8mg is a huge leap; it generally takes about 4 weeks for the medication to accumulate properly in your system.

My initial experience with Reta was rough. I had trouble sleeping, my heart rate went wild, and I dealt with acid reflux—the whole package.

After stopping for several months, I gave it another shot. This time, there were no downsides at all. The difference from before is that I've been increasing my dose at a very gradual pace.

People respond in all sorts of ways. I also ramped up to close to the highest dose pretty fast, and I still haven't had any side effects. I keep wondering when they'll finally show up. Actually, my gut health is in better shape right now than it's been in ages. I suspect the grey may need a somewhat larger dose, and I also feel it isn't as potent as the name brand, though that's just my take. Does it matter, as long as it does the job? And for me, it is doing the job.

Sitting at about 10mg and 0 side effects here. Assuming your product came back clean on testing, there is nothing to worry about.

That's one heck of a rapid increase. My recommendation is to titrate gradually, just as the research Lilly references indicates. Your call, though.

I moved over from tirz to reta too. The skin sensitivity thing hit me as well, though it only showed up around 8mg, I believe during week 2. When it came to curbing appetite, it did not measure up to tirz, and from what I can tell that lines up with what the majority go through. Reta seems to act mostly through ramping up metabolism. On top of that, its potency at GLP-1R is not especially high, so perhaps that explains why appetite suppression falls short—though I am not certain.

Compared with the other glp1s, retatrutide is really subtle. Weight loss may be the only sign you notice.

16mg of reta every week?! Would you mind telling me how things are going?

I'm still on the fence since the weight isn't coming off. That said, my scale is registering more muscle and less fat.

When you say progress, do you mean weight loss?

Looking at how you titrated, I want to know how you divided the 16mg across the week. And did you end up losing a significant amount of muscle?

After I pin, I tend to feel pretty sloshed. Were you staying on top of your diet and weight training?

Between 1/30/26 and 3/25/26, a Dexa scan showed a drop of roughly 19lb, with only .5lb coming from lean mass.

As for whether things are in check, I honestly don't know the criteria — my weight lifting has been slipping.

Here's what I had for dinner

Glad to hear it, man. Just keep in mind you're basically your own test subject. Stay safe out there and God bless.

You've put your finger on exactly where unclear meets unsettling.

Every single one of my criteria is met by this.

Within three weeks I moved up from 1 to 3mg, felt absolutely nothing, and my gastrointestinal situation has actually improved compared to before.

My own start was the same way. I fall into the poor responder category. At 4, 8, and 10 there were no sides at all.... I then add 1.5mg sema or 5mg tirz.... which makes lasagna repulsive to me.

What kind of results have you seen on the scale?
Alright, that works for me.
