INTRO I do not want to be called obese anymore

Hi everyone,

I came across a topic about healthy living while scrolling on Reddit.

That is how I discovered this forum exists, and it also opened my eyes to the fact that Ozempic is not the only option out there!

Let me introduce myself as a true ravebaddie. I am 40 years old, married, have 2 kids, and I am getting back into the rave scene. Psytrance and Hard Techno of all kinds are what I love dancing to.

Since the early age of 14 I have been obese. My classmates began eating things other than what they had brought from home, and I followed suit. Sadly, my metabolism digests alllll the calories from my food very very efficiently, so while my classmates did not gain weight, I did. Extremely frustrating.

For my whole life, this led to a struggle to keep a healthy weight.

About 12 years ago, when I met my now husband, I weighed roughly 115kg and was familiar with every sort of diet and everything about nutrition. Over about 3 years, my boyfriend watched me lose 30kg and put it back on again several times, as I tried out different kinds of diets involving pills / homeopathic drops / fasting / Slim-Fast / illegal stuff.

As a result, when I was over 130kg and no longer able to ty my shoelaces myself, with my boyfriend having to do it for me, I became depressed. Every morning and night I cried and told him to leave me and find a more fit girlfriend to have children with. Ofcourse he stayed 😍

Despite my weight-issues, he loves me, and he has done nothing but support my diets and my attempts to live a healthy life. He knows his own metabolism is completely different and that he has never had any big weight issues.

Since my body had become a big problem for me in daily activities, I went to my doctor and explained the situation.

This led to starting a process to have bariatric surgery.

After 1,5 years of psychological sessions, group sessions and a physical check, my gastric sleeve surgery took place in December of 2016.

At my heaviest I was 143,5kg with a height of 176cm. BMI over 40...

In the years that followed the surgery, I lost 43kgs. For me it has been a life saver. And we were able to have 2 beautiful children and even got married!

But now in 2026, after 10 years of living with my 'tinier stomach', losing more weight is a struggle. Currently I am 101kg and still obese.

My body has changed, but my mind is still the same - that is my main concern.

Preparing food for family and friends is still something I like to do, and I live a Bourgondic lifestyle.

If only my interest in eating were less!

So I have joined this forum to learn more about the possibilities for getting healthier and no longer being obese.

Not being obese anymore and fitting into a size L instead of an XL is a great dream for me.
Hope everything goes well for you as you go through this! After being on glp's for 1 year, my own mental image finally shifted from seeing myself as "the obese one" to "the skinny one." I stopped glp's not long ago, and the food noise—the part that was hardest for me—has returned, so I'm aiming to start them again. It might be something I need for life, but the results make it completely worthwhile!

Seeing how many bari-baddies are part of this group really blows my mind. For staying on course (or getting back on track!), these meds are unbelievably helpful.
If GLP1's had been around 10 years ago, I'd probably have gone with the medication before considering the sleeve surgery.

Still, the prices are absurd, and here in The Netherlands the first year comes entirely out of your own pocket! Strange regulations...

Hearing that your self-image has shifted toward seeing yourself as 'skinny' is really wonderful. And perhaps staying on GLP1's indefinitely... that doesn't sound so terrible, does it?

Back when peptides were completely new to me, I felt a lot of hesitation about using them over the long haul. These days, though... the advantages go far beyond simply dropping pounds.

My perspective has shifted, and the idea of GLP1's for life no longer seems like a bad thing to me.

Hearing that Reta is doing so well for you makes me really happy. Your feelings make complete sense to me: for years my BMI wouldn't budge from somewhere between 31 and 32, and this week the app for my scale displayed 28.9! Wishing you the very best.

In the US, nearly everything comes out of your own pocket. I hope that shifts before long.

Update month #2

SW 15-04-2026: 103 kg

CW 15-06-2026: 93,5kg

Total lost this month: -3,0kg

BMI: 30,2

Dose:

3mg Reta on Wednesday and Sunday

3mg Mots-C on Monday and Friday (sport)

It feels so good when others begin to see that I've dropped some weight 😁

Even more exciting: my mom and dad both wanted to know what 'my secret' was, so I told them all about peptides!

After hearing how things have gone for me so far, they're going to begin a peptide too!

For my ongoing shoulder problems I bought the Wolverine blend, and I also got a kit of Tirzepatide for my father, who will stop his prescribed Semaglutide and make the change.

I never thought they'd come around this quickly, I'm thrilled!

To make injecting simpler for them, I picked up 2 Gansulin auto-pens, cartridges and supplies.

Having dealt with being (morbidly) obese for more than 25 years, next month I'll officially be 'just' overweight! 😁

Month #3 update

Starting weight 15-04-2026: 103 kg

Current weight 15-07-2026: 90.5kg

Amount dropped during this month: -3kg

BMI: 29.2

What I take:

3mg Reta each Wednesday/Sunday

4mg Mots-C each Monday/Wednesday/Friday

2mg GHK-CU every day

These past 3 weeks were spent having a wonderful vacation right here in my own country, in The Netherlands' southernmost region: Limburg.

My time went to reading a book, catching up on sleep and gaming alongside my family.

I got back home yesterday, so naturally I stepped onto the scale!

It has finally happened, I'm a 'Onelander' 🎉

199.5lbs and the number keeps dropping!

Gradual and consistent, roughly 0,7kg per week.

Reta is something I adore and it truly has transformed my life. It's hard to believe.

The previous time I weighed this much, I didn't even have my drivers license yet!

Great. Getting slimmer means you can do more things together with your family. I just dropped below 200 lbs, and that feeling has been fantastic. Best of luck, and you're doing awesome.

Thanks so much!

Yes, things are really different now! I went hiking in the hills and played badminton, and my knee did not hurt at all.

Plus, doing sports with the kids was way more enjoyable! We played all sorts of fun games at the small lake, even when it was hot out.

My friends have started whispering 'could this be something for me?' but it is still early days.

What I really appreciate is being able to talk openly about peptides with my family and friends, and that they are also discovering that peptides might help them with things beyond just weight loss.

Update month #4

SW 15-04-2026: 103 kg

CW 15-08-2026: 87.7kg

Total lost this month: -2.8kg

BMI: 28.3

Stack:

3mg Reta on Wednesday/Sunday

2.5mg GHK-CU daily

0.5mg KPV daily

Honestly, this is just incredible! 😁

Energy levels are high, I feel fantastic, and the side effects have been really minimal. Right now I'm at 6mg per week and I don't intend to increase it.

After watching my progress, some of my friends want me to assist them in getting started with Tirz.

I'm glad to do it and share what I've picked up from being here.

A Dutch broadcaster, 'RTL News', reached out asking to interview me! Since I don't want strangers reaching out about Reta, it'll be done anonymously. The only people who know are my family and closest friends. It's our happy little secret 😉

Update month #5

SW 15-04-2026: 103 kg

CW 15-09-2026: 86 kg

Total lost this month: -1.7kg

BMI: 27.8

Stack:

4mg Reta on Sunday + 0.5mg Cagri on Wednesday

3-4mg Mots-C on M/W/F

Changed my schedule so Reta is once per week and Cagri is once per week. Going up in dose gradually.

I want to see how this stack affects stalls and whether anything feels different. Simply curious to give it a try.

Additionally, every day I take 2.5mg GHK-Cu+1mg KPV for the bacterial acne on my face (this month I cycle off).

For the past 10 years my face has not been this clear and settled, even though I have had regular medical peelings and prescription tretinoin creams.

It seems like KPV keeps my skin from getting inflamed and irritated. Occasionally I still get eczema patches around my eyes. I will keep cycling this combo indefinitely! 😄

This month I began a fresh Mots-C cycle. No idea what the next weeks will bring.

New issue: I really need jeans and tops in a smaller size. I own a sewingmachine and lockmachine, but not everything can be taken in. Having to shop for clothing in a EU size 42 is a bit frightening... This is uncharted territory for me. I cannot recall fitting into that size as a teen... Soooo off to the secondhand store we go!

I apologize — this is a bit off-topic. Once you send me a message I can take it down, but I had no other way of getting in touch with you to hear your thoughts.

After opening my Laboratoriumdiscounter Benzyl Alcohol (99.95+% FCC, USP) and using it to make Ampuwas every 2-3 months, how long does it stay good? My routine is just to open it, pull 45 units, cap it, and leave it in a dark drawer. When do you replace your bottle of Benzyl alcohol?

Once more, sorry for asking something off-topic. 🙏 🙂

BTW great job on your progress, you are doing amazing. 👊😍

I hope you hit the weight you're aiming for, and your journey is really motivating! Wanting to get back into shape is something I can definitely relate to. It makes me happy that you have your husband and kids supporting you with so much love!
