Hi! I’m new here so just introducing myself.

I just read through the newbie rules and they made me laugh a bit 🤭

So, about me…. I am from VA but reside in NC now. I have a history of PCOS, my weight has been up and down my entire life. Times I felt super great about myself and times I didn’t want to leave the house. I have not yet tried the glp’s but I’m very curious and hoping to do some homework around here and find out more. I have insulin resistance and am in the prediabetic range. Currently taking metformin. My doctor has tried twice to get my insurance to approve me for a GLP and got shot down both times. Meanwhile my doctor says I am a great candidate for it with my current metabolic issues, prediabetes, PCOS etc etc. I really really don’t understand the US healthcare and insurance. Why wouldn’t you approve me for something that could help me to not get to that next step of actual diabetes. Why not help me try to improve my health now? Smh. Anyway, so then my HRT doctor tells me about this new drug Retatrutide and how I would be the perfect candidate for that and I’m like great, let’s do it. Then she proceeds to tell me that it’s not available yet 😒 So yeah….here I am. Or, like the rules post said ….you. know. why. I’m. here.

I have to add 2 things to this: reading through 60,000 post seems a little overwhelming but I’m up trying 🥺 also ngl some of the post I feel like I’m reading a different language lol.

Also, I’m still trying to navigate the forum and I feel like my 75 year old mom trying to figure out how to use her remote 😂

Anyway, maybe someone could point me in the direction of at the best place to start reading / learning etc. for someone that knows nothing at the point.

So yeah, that’s a little bit about me (maybe TMI, idk but if so, my bad) thanks for having me & I look forward to meeting some of you. ✌️😎

Welcome. I got diagnosed within the last year with diabetes and am on metformin and have been denied glp as well by insurance even tho I qualified. So I feel you there. So I started on reta myself and now my a1c is down to 5.3. I had been prediabetic for years with a recent gestational diabetes result(2 yrs ago). So I feel you. Hopefully you can find what you are looking for here. But you Def sound like someone I can relate to! Would like to chat with you some more

Hi, I'm a NC girl here, too! ❤️ Nice to see some locals. I am still reading as much as I can. I have been on Tirz for 9 months or so now and am in the beginning of maintenace...or I plan on spending this next year preventing myself from gaining anything back, again. I have lost weight numerous times and I am just ready to win the battle... Find my healthiest self and do everything I can, to just feel better. Good luck in your research!
