Hello! I’m a male in my late 30s (still counts as being in my 30s) from the south of the UK.

I had a spine fusion operation last year and gained a little weight after. Since the surgery I’ve recovered well and now walk 5km a day with ease.

My partner and I have both been on a weight loss journey this year. I’m trying to get back to my pre-weight surgery (from 95kg to ~80kg) and my partner wants to lose weight in general. I have an easier time than her losing weight, she’s tried weight loss medication in the past with success.

I’ve been learning more and more about weight loss meds and GLP-1 etc. Been doing a lot of reading and thought it was time to join the forum!

Looking forward to learning more and reading others stories. Cheers!

Welcome! I am waiting for insurance approval to get a spinal fusion, which, hopefully, will help me get me moving more, feel better, and lose weight as well. Having chronic back pain for the last 20 years (I'm 40) has been utterly miserable.

Welcome to the community!

Welcome!

Have you been on any glp-1’s yet, or are you in the research phase right now?

Either way, you’ve come to the right place

I’d been struggling for about 5 years with a diagnosed issue but had issues since I was 16, so I completely understand your pain (literally!). I was so ready for the surgery that I wasn’t even nervous genuinely just wanted to be better. Best decision I ever made, quality of life is infinitely better. Mine was through private insurance too. 🙂

Hi - I’m researching currently but my partner has used GLP-1s before, as have many of our close friends with amazing results.
