Hey there! I’m a guy in my late 30s (technically still in my 30s) living in the south of the UK.

Last year I underwent spinal fusion surgery, and afterward I put on some weight. My recovery since then has gone well, and these days I can walk 5km daily without difficulty.

This year, both my partner and I have been working on losing weight. My goal is to return to what I weighed before the surgery (from 95kg down to about 80kg), while my partner simply wants to shed some pounds. Losing weight comes more easily for me than for her; she has used weight loss medication before and it worked for her.

I’ve been steadily educating myself about weight loss drugs and GLP-1 and so on. After doing plenty of reading, I figured it was about time to sign up for the forum!

Can’t wait to pick up more knowledge and read about other people’s experiences. Cheers!

Welcome! I'm currently waiting on insurance approval for a spinal fusion. My hope is that it will allow me to move around more, feel better, and also shed some weight. Dealing with chronic back pain for 20 years now (I'm 40) has been absolutely awful.

Welcome to the community!

Glad to have you here!

Are you already using any glp-1’s, or are you still just looking into them?

No matter which one it is, this is the right spot for you

For roughly 5 years I dealt with a diagnosed problem, though it had actually been affecting me since age 16 — so your pain is something I truly get (in the most literal sense!). By the time surgery came around I felt nothing but ready; nerves never entered the picture, I simply wanted relief. It turned out to be the single best choice of my life, and my quality of life has improved beyond measure. Private insurance covered mine as well. 🙂

Hello - at the moment I'm in the research phase, though my partner has taken GLP-1s in the past, and so have a lot of our close friends, with incredible outcomes.
