Hey all! 👋

I figured I’d say hello and share a bit about myself since I’m new around here. Australia is home, and my job is in healthcare — so the clinical aspects are fairly familiar to me. That said, I’m joining as someone on a personal journey of my own, eager to pick up wisdom from what others have been through.

When I’m not working, strength training and powerlifting are my thing, which means keeping muscle, strength and performance up matters a lot to me. How people have managed GLP-1s alongside training, nutrition, protein intake and staying active is something I’d really like to learn about.

Over the years I’ve tried various weight loss approaches and had some experience with them, but what I’m after now is something that feels more sustainable and manageable long term rather than another short-term solution.

Experiences people have had with appetite changes, food choices, side effects, stalls and maintaining muscle while losing weight are especially interesting to me.

Reading everyone’s experiences will be great, and I hope to contribute where I can.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and learning along the way! 😊

G'day! Another Aussie here, I work in healthcare too, and I'm into lifting weights as well! Personally, GLP-1s haven't lowered my energy or performance. That said, the dose you take can make it tough to get enough food down while bulking - you'll work out which dose gives you the appetite suppression you need while still letting you take in enough calories and protein. The main thing I'd say is begin at a low dose and increase slowly. Have you begun?

Aussies are definitely taking over this space... Welcome aboard. I’m not a powerlifter myself, but I do go hard in workouts daily to chase certain goals.

For me, putting protein first has done a lot to keep my energy up. I aim to eat carbs mainly around my training windows, and I haven’t felt any obvious drop in energy. That said, I’m with you on beginning with the smallest dose possible and then raising it slowly only if your intake needs it. My wife and I were on 1mg/week reta for close to 8 months
