Hi all — I'm a dad in his 50s with 2 kids, a freshman plus a sophomore, each at a different university nearby, which means the house is finally quiet after many years. That pushed me to finally deal with everything I'd been postponing: physical, eye doctor, dermatologist, podiatrist, orthopedist, etc.

Right now my main aims are dropping roughly 10% of my bodyweight and getting past some old sports injuries from tennis and mountain biking. For the last 5-10 years I've stuck mostly to a whole food / Paleo way of eating, and because I really do love food, I looked for extra help: I went through a compounding pharmacy for semaglutide, though I never moved up to a therapeutic dose since low amounts worked well for me. Tirzepatide was another short trial, and I'm now checking out other options that could fit better with what I want to research. At this point I'm focused more on recovery, and I'd like to shift toward optimization down the road.

Reddit is how I came across this place, and even though I'm probably close to my 20-year badge on that site, the discussion here comes across as a bit more trustworthy. 😅

Glad to have you here! I suspect this place will suit you well.

If I had to suggest just 1 thing for what you're aiming at? BPC-157. Recovery is something it can genuinely assist with, and given where you are age-wise, it's certainly a sensible route. For shoulder problems, I've run it and gotten a reasonable level of benefit. I'm not 100% recovered, but I'm able to operate at a fairly normal level.

On Reddit, separating useful info from junk is a real struggle, and a number of subreddit mods come across as rather . . . "touchy". The Tirz compounding forum has plenty of useful content, though it's clear their preference leans toward "already mixed when you buy" rather than "make it yourself". I actually went through them to get a few months' worth of Tirz, which lets me proceed without rushing here. No frantic stockpiling, no stress over packages arriving late. Just taking it slow and cautious.

Still, being here means I'm picking up knowledge on ALL KINDS of other products. For a guy like me -- very overweight, with back problems -- things such as NAD+, BPC-157, and GHK-Cu "intrigues me".

A shoulder problem? Count me in — I'm dealing with that too! Honestly, even a modest amount of improvement would count as a big victory 😎

BPC-157 and GHK-Cu stood out to me. I'm attempting to rank things according to what I need right away, but just like you, I find it interesting

Right. What I want to accomplish first is drop a significant amount of weight, so that my GP quits telling me to update who to contact in an emergency.
