Hi everyone,
Time for my intro — I'm brand new to all of this. Fingers crossed I've posted this in the correct spot and haven't rambled on too much.
A bit of background: I'm a 51 year old bloke carrying a lot of excess weight. There's some medical stuff in the mix too, the most entertaining being Crohns and Addisons. Because of the Addisons I no longer produce cortisol on my own, so I have to estimate my dose and either swallow a tablet or use an emergency injection (picture Nicolas Cage in The Rock). My theory is that one drawback of dosing cortisol all day long is that it pushes my insulin up, which encourages visceral fat storage. Roughly 40lbs is what I'd like to shed, and every bit of it sits on my belly. Honestly it looks like I'm hiding a bowling ball under my T-shirt.
Dieting gave me a little progress, but tracking calories stresses me out badly and I end up quitting. Going more carnivore feels gentle on my stomach, except then I crash and get the shakes. Adding some carbs back makes me feel better, yet the belly stays fat…
I've also given tirzepatide (mounjaro) a go, ordered from a UK online pharmacy, for around 6 months. About 40lbs came off, which was brilliant, until the pharmacy cut off my supply — once they learned about my crohns and addisons they didn't want to keep prescribing. My own view is that I get the possible risks of this medicine and the decision ought to be mine. So now I have to step into the intimidating world of grey-market peptides and crypto.
Some videos about A.I. and peptides have given me a fair amount of hope (and I could really use some).
Anyway — hello.
I'd really like to know whether anyone else with crohns or Addisons has managed to lose visceral fat using peptides. But honestly, any success stories or glimmers of hope are very welcome.
Cheers all.
