Hello everyone,

I am 37 have lost around 140 pounds over the past 6-7 years. Starting at 320 and going to 180 mostly through diet and excercise.

I have found over the past 2-3 years it has become increasingly harder to lose the last 20 or so pounds to achieve my goal weight. I have been eating at a deficit for around 6-7 years now-but everytime I eat for more than 3-4 days above my deficit my weight balloons (going up 10-15 pounds in a week for example), and it takes months to get back down to where I originally was while the time it takes to lose any weight while eating at a deficit is increasingly slow. In the past year I have been between 180-173 and have not ever been able to break lower. This is despite a regular gym routine of at least an hour a day in the gym and careful weighting and logging of everything I consume. I suspect I am metabolically stuck and my body has adapted to the low calorie intake I have making it very difficult to lose weight. After 6-7 years of constantly eating at a deficit and careful attention to my weight I am also exhausted and dont' feel I can meaningfully do much more.

I am looking at taking reta to hopefully see if It can meaningfully move my metobalism and allow me to finally drop the final 20 pounds as I prepare for surgery to remove the leftover skin.
