Hi all!

I'm a 28-year-old living in the US. For a while now I've been following discussions here, and I'd typically land on the forum when a really niche question popped into my head at some ridiculous hour😅

My glp1 journey began roughly 1.5 years back, and in that time I've dropped about 70 lbs. It's definitely not been an easy ride, but I feel good about where I've gotten to. There's still plenty I'm figuring out along the way, particularly around nutrition and how to handle things over the long haul.

I decided to join since I get a lot out of hearing about what others have gone through. My hope is to pick up even more here, contribute some of what I've experienced, and actually jump into conversations rather than quietly nodding or shaking my head at posts😋

Looking forward to crossing paths with you!

Welcome!

Losing 70# is a massive win, and the version of you down the road is grateful for it. Speaking as someone whose job is nutrition, none of us ever stops learning — degree or not. Or at least, we shouldn't stop!

There seems to be a common assumption that maintenance means a flat, unchanging weight, way of eating, and body makeup. Maybe that holds for a few people, but I doubt it holds for the majority. Over the last 2.5 years I've kept off roughly 15-20#, and during that time my weight moves around, my body composition moves around, and what I need moves around — it all depends on which activities I'm into or which goals I'm putting first (and those goals aren't only about fitness). To me, maintenance is something dynamic, and that's what makes it interesting.

Hello there!

I've also only just signed up, having spent roughly a year quietly reading without posting. Which medication did you begin with? In my case, I started on Sema while insurance was paying for it, but then coverage was abruptly cut off. After doing some research, I switched over to Tirz and found I had fewer side effects. At this point I'm looking into Reta, even though Tirz has me quite satisfied!
