Hey everyone!

I'm 28 and from the US. I've been reading along here for a while, usually ending up on the forum whenever I had a very specific question at a very unreasonable hour😅

I started my glp1 journey about 1.5 years ago and have lost around 70 lbs since then. It def hasn't been a smooth process, but I'm proud of where I am now. I'm still learning as I go, especially when it comes to nutrition and what long-term maintenance looks like.

I joined because I enjoy reading about other people's experiences. I hope to learn even more here, share some of my own experiences and finally participate in threads instead of just silently (dis)agreeing with posts😋

Hope to see you around!

Welcome!

70# lost is a huge accomplishment and your future self is thanking you. As someone who does nutrition for a living, we are all continuously learning, even if (or especially if) we have a degree. Or at least we should be!

I think there's this idea that maintenance looks like a steady, static state of weight/eating habits/body composition. While that's maybe true for some people, I don't think it's true for most. I've maintained about 15-20# weight loss over the past 2.5 years and my weight fluctuates, my body composition fluctuates, my needs fluctuate, all depending upon activities I'm enjoying or goals I'm prioritizing (which aren't just fitness). I think maintenance is dynamic, which keeps it interesting.

Welcome!

I too just joined after about a year or so of lurking in the shadows. What did you start on medication wise? For me I started on Sema when insurance covered it, then they suddenly dropped it. I ended up making the switch to Tirz after learning and experienced less side effects. Now I’m learning about Reta although very happy with my Tirz!
