Morning All,

I’m a UK-based bloke in my 40s. My starting point for all this was over 120kg, and across the past 6 months I’ve taken off a little more than 10kg. It’s not some dramatic before-and-after film sequence, but it counts as moving forward!

Tirz has been part of this and has made a real difference, but the reason I’ve signed up is that I’d rather properly grasp what I’m doing instead of piecing it together from stray posts and second-hand claims. There’s also lumbar surgery on my horizon, which has pushed me to be extra careful about doing this properly, particularly when it comes to recovery and healing. My aims are to carry on losing fat, keep as much muscle as possible, and avoid tripping myself up simply because I don’t know enough.

So, I’m here to pick things up, ask daft questions, and hopefully reach the stage where I can contribute something as well.

Cheers

Hi, I'm in the UK too.

Which form of tirz were you on? Was appetite suppression something you noticed a lot? That's my main concern before I begin — I've only got a little fat to shift, and I really don't want to end up eating so little that muscle goes too.

I got Mounjaro through registered online pharmacies, and typically I’d switch to whichever one had the lowest price. My dose never went above 5mg, so it stayed relatively low, but even so I’d say it quietened the food noise and took the edge off my appetite. Eating was still possible, though my portions were definitely reduced. I was aiming for 150/200g protein each day, and most of the time I could hit that, but at points it felt like a real slog!

From what I’ve heard, Reta doesn’t suppress appetite to the same degree (I haven’t begun it yet, but I intend to), so maybe that would work better with Tirz? Of course, it comes down to how much risk you’re willing to take since it isn’t licensed yet.

Yeah I’ve been checking out legit online pharmacies for MJ, and honestly, for a guy with a serious needle phobia, it’s mad that I’m even thinking about it — but no pain no gain. Reckon I could kick off with Tirz and then switch to Reta down the line if I have to. The thing that puts me off Reta is finding a trustworthy

Source.

To be honest, the needles are so small you hardly notice them at all — after 2 or 3 goes you'll get used to it. Should the cost not be an issue, the online pharmacies in the UK are a solid option, though the price climbs steeply before long. Going the Grey market route costs much less, but the protections are obviously much thinner, so it comes down to deciding what level of risk sits right with you. There's a lot to read through on these forums, and before long you'll land on whatever sounds like a good fit for you

Greetings! I’m in the UK as well! You’ll find a huge amount of information here to support you along the way! Best of luck!

Thanks. For me, starting with the licensed pharmacies for MJ seems like a sensible first step, but as my dosages increase I doubt it will be affordable long term.

I’m also attempting to understand how the Reta testing process functions.

Only increase your dose once you sense it's necessary. Pharmacies tend to push you to move faster (each 4 weeks) since that brings them more profit, yet if your current dose is doing the job, then stay on it for as long as possible.

Hey! I'm from the US, though I've spent the past 2 years living in the UK. I still travel back and forth.

Losing 10kg deserves real credit — that's tough at any age, peptides or not. And good on you for digging past the surface-level stuff. That's a meaningful step.

I'm still a doctor in training, but I've come across other members on here who are actually fully practicing physicians, and they back the sensible use of peptides alongside lifestyle habits. Certain peptides, I do think, address what a lot of people need; the problem is that people (me included) want to hurry the process. Lately everything's swung so anti-big pharma that it turns into anti-doctor, while folks forget the supplement world is basically its own for-profit machine & peptides are still pharma haha.

Dropping weight ahead of your surgery will help enormously. There are other things said to aid healing, but the research on them still isn't fully clear. Bodybuilders and biohackers report mixed experiences. Might be worth looking into and talking over with the older, more experienced members. Muscle mass definitely has some link to recovery and longevity, so just be cautious with the GLPs, since part of the weight lost comes from muscle tissue rather than only fat.

I'll try to tag any doctors on these forums in this thread.

What GLPs have done in my experience is cut the food noise. It's been haunting me for ages, especially when I am stressed. During college, when it was difficult for me to gain a single pound, I built poor eating habits but didn't see the results as I was highly active. Life happens, with years of sedentary work & limited exercise, those poor habits led me to balloon to 107kg, go figure haha.

Take this journey to learn about your body & build habits that will get more out of the various peptides you might consider.

What is your weight goal/When is your surgery if you don't mind me asking?

@Jellybelly54 I hope being tagged is alright with you.

After reading various threads, I saw that you've got solid knowledge when it comes to peps/compounds, even while working as a doctor. Sorry if a tag isn't something you'd like, and I'll take it down!
