I feel guilty for access to this gem

My mom was skeptical at first, until at the month mark i lost 9 lbs. I'm a male, told her to wait for me to get more progress until she was convinced it was for her. She hadn't heard of Retatrutide but has Tirzepatide.

Showed her the goods (weight loss, blood sugar control, food noise reduction, pain reduction, reduced inflamation), and the bads (skin sensation, gastrointestinal issues, higher heart rate, etc). On her own she started digging on youtube, and hear about a local lawyer (that is an influencer) talk about GLP-1 and the benefits of them.

Alas, she wanted to start on it! So far she has lost 11 pounds in around 5 weeks, and somehow sleeps better?

You might have to play a very long game to have much chance of convincing her it might be a good idea. Given her current attitudes to health and medical treatment she has a fair chance she might be right about doctors finding something wrong , like diabetes or high blood pressure have to be at least fairly likely, but there is a very large space between her viewpoints on health and taking grey glp peptides to improve long and short term health.

Convincing her to get a medical checkout is a good idea in and of itself regardless of the GLP drugs. At that age and obese she is going to be at higher risk than average of quite a few problems, many of which are treatable, and generally it is better to find out you have high blood pressure or cholesterol or diabetes and end up on some pills than to only start dealing with it after the heart attack or some other event. Even without losing weight just making sure blood pressure, lipids and blood sugars are ok can prevent a lot of the more severe consequences.

People on average are more likely to respond to issues that they are concerned about or are causing problems, ( rather than more abstract long term health risk improvements ) so finding out what bothers her about her health might help, but the obvious one is pain from arthritis, and that is something GLP drugs can help with a lot, partly from metabolic and anti inflammatory effects but also a lot from just dropping the extra weight loading on the joints so they hurt less.

If you occasionally try a bit of encouragement you have some chance of convincing her over time, but realistically probably not. If you show obvious health improvements from GLP's that might help. But in the end everyone has to make their own health decisions, even if you do not like or agree with them.
