Love it. I did that in my 20's.

I'm sorry, I was being too oblique

Relating the story of his colleague to internet strangers is not done with the intention of helping his colleague.

I won't speak to the intention, but it doesn't help his colleague. It does not educate his colleague.

Thank you for your petspctive, but you are incorrect. I will be talking to him more, and I will continue to try and help him. If he wants to eat 3 donuts he can. I'm not judging him for that or saying he is wrong in doing so. There is some wisdom in this thread, that will aid me in the conversation.

How does airing your colleague's food choices to internet strangers help him?

I am not incorrect when I say it does not, nor was your creation of this thread meant to help him

Still, carry on.

In the thru hiking (long distance hiking) world, one of the most often repeated words of advice is, "hike your own hike"...You will always run into people that tell you you aren't doing it right, or your gear is wrong, or you 'have to' whatever....The phrase gives comfort that YOU are the one doing the hike...hike your own hike....

Thank you, my intent was not to say he was "wrong".

Everyone's different, but I think a lot of people just ignore advice. In the US, Big Pharma ads are long! And every single one I've seen for a GLP-1 says something to the effect of "Combined with diet and exercise..."

Out of the 5 telehealths I patronized, only one required a clinician visit but she was clear that the meds work best with diet and exercise. The other telehealths were asynchronous, but in their documentation upon sign up it also strongly suggested diet and exercise. Others' experience may be different. 🤷‍♀️

But people will "in one ear, out the other" and ignore very obvious things all day long. Like that hot coffee is hot...but now we have warning labels on disposable cup lids saying "WARNING! Contains hot coffee! This may burn you!" 🤣

That's a great sentiment! Forgive if I sound preachy...maybe it's because as a woman I've had countless people comment on my body...but I try to remember when helping: Would I want help given to me in this way? I'm not assuming you're insensitive - you seem like a person who genuinely wants to help others! But people can get very touchy with unsolicited weight loss advice, and if you work with him just remember you have a working relationship you want to maintain. 🙂

…This is a roundabout way of suggesting that there are many fun ways to get resistance training that aren't weights. Maybe you'll find something…

That’s a great point, there are many ways to find movement and exertion that aren’t as tedious. A non resistance example, I like walking over running usually, both burn the same calories, but walking takes longer.

I have a moderately physical day job, between that and TRT my lean mass has been basically flat for the last going on 6 months/50lbs. My 5th DEXA is on the 20th, I’m expecting to have lost a bit of lean since the scan at the end of May.

I have lost 30kg so far on tirzepatide. My food noise is reduced a lot. I don't get full any faster than before though. I had a relapse last week and ate a whole pizza and chocolate cake.

Thank you for this comment. Women are unfairly and constantly judged for ridicules things. I am sorry that it has happened to you, you do not deserve that. Your completely correct, people are often sensitive. I assume this man is also sensitive about his wieght. That's why I first try to understand, hence the question: do people on trizeptide get sick then they eat like that? That is the piont of this thread. It looks like I did not make that clear enough at the beginning. I'm not on trizepotide, I'm on reta. I would be very very sick if I ate 3 donuts. I have learned via this threat, that there are people who can eat like this on tirz and not get sick. That's powerful knowledge that will help me understand his potential perspective before I talk to him again. I'm probably going to break the ice saying something along the lines of: "Maybe I should try trizeptide, on reta, I cannot cheat at all. I cannot even eat my wife's home made brownies" and now I won't feal bad bringing him a small brownie.

Theres nothing wrong with eating a bunch of pizza and cake on occasion. After 60kg you deserve to treat yourself. If you don't mind me asking, did you get sick from eating all that? My friend on reta had 3 pieces of pizza, he was so constipated he went to the hospital.

A few day later, there were donuts in the break room. I overheard him say to someone "I can still eat 3 donuts, I just have to spread the out over 5 or 6 hours". I thought he was joking, then he grabbed 3 donuts and walked away.

There are few diagnoses for which a doctor will prescribe a GLP-1. I'm certain that chowing down donuts are not what the doctor intended.

Thanks for that! I love being a woman (I have no other basis for judgement) but the "Hey fatty!" Or "Hey hot stuff!"...THAT I could live without! 🙄

You seem like someone who really tries to understand the whole picture, and that's a noble aspiration! And take it easy...the best evangelism is a life well lived. When he sees you losing and feeling great, believe me--he'll come to you. 😉
