How have people reacted to you taking weightloss drugs?

I like your context and the way you handle it more than mine, I think. I did give her grace; it sounds harsher here than the jokey manner in which I said it IRL. It does bother me though! Why bother comparing, or denigrating oneself or regretting choices? To applaud someone else? Doesn't make me feel great. I'm sure it didn't make her feel great, either. Our lives are so vastly different and that isn't a good or bad thing. It just is. I think the biggest issue with that interaction is how difficult my life has been, but outsiders looking in think it's great 'cause I got some salmon and a nice face n bod. It's.... I guess, dismissive of my experience and a narrow, ultimately conceited perception. The other issue is that I'm sure her kid heard, and I don't imagine comments like that make him feel great. I thought he was a well behaved little guy, all things considering in a Costco.

And you know, now that I consider it more, I think your response wasn't too harsh. I was imagining the tired women who say that to ME, and how it sounds wistful and I'm not bothered because my life kinda IS as much-as-I-like-it as it looks to a casual observer. But god, what if she'd said that to someone who was having or had infertility struggles; it would have stung them so badly.

Tangentially related, but a stressed mom and her kid passed by me a couple times at costco the other day. We ended up in the same aisle, and she was eyeing up my foods. I've only recently become aware that this is a thing that people do to other people, so I observed and idly wondered what she was thinking, if she was even thinking about my items. Didn't take long, lol. She spoke up and said, "must be nice to be able to eat healthy and not have kid food". I was super indignant at that. I said back, "No, don't compare yourself to me." and promptly fucked off.

Victim of her own damn decisions, lol. I don't even know what was in her cart, I just wanted my sheep yoggies

I think people are ridiculous and their opinions are not very nuanced !

I had kids.. and while yes we did buy some pre-prepared pizzas and uncrustables from costco..the majority of what our kids ate was what we ate, which was healthy food, and always included fruits and vegetables. They are healthy adults now.

People giving their kids so much premade unhealthy foods is how we all ended up in this situation. I was a GenX kid, poptarts, Hohos, ding dongs.. and TV dinners..

ah well.... I recognize how much of a privilege it is to even have a garden or make meals from scratch with good ingredients. When I was a kid, we ate from the garden most years because it was all we had. Now, it's premium to own land; more to care for a little garden plot. It's a lot of effort and money to eat well, especially if you've been working all day for a low wage. With how messed up everything is now, and how expensive things are, I don't blame people for making the choices they do. On the other hand, she's the adult with the money and the know how; she isn't entirely helpless. I don't know.

My biggest question is, why do companies feel like they can get away with poisoning us? The stuff they put in kids food is addictive and metabolically disruptive. How do we hold institutions accountable for failing generations?

1 - you making me feel bad, as my wife always put kid Costco big bags of stuff on my peptides in my garage freezer. 2 - about if people ask you about it, one day, if people ask and assume you are taking something, you might expect it, because you must have had something that made such great improvements. Or people think that. If they think that, is that so bad, or not perhaps.

Because they can. I don't think there's anybody who has real control of anything anymore who cares even a little about what happens down here on the ground, except to try to extract more money from the groundlings. The only thing we can really do at this point is opt out of the nastiest parts as best we can, do the best we can to resist being sold the problems so we can also buy the solutions, and try to be nice to each other. That's about all I can think to do.

Sorry, It's all the advertising that convinces us it's normal and good. I didnt realize that until I lived in other countries. And yet I after I came back I fell back into it time and time again.

Our way of life with so little time for meals, makes that so appealing.

Nobody in my life knows that I'm taking it, and I'm not making a big deal about things. I don't have a lot of weight to lose, and I've started reta for body recomp. If someone close to me compliments my physique going forward and asks how i got here, I'd likely tell them about pinning - I don't like the idea of lying and saying 'with just healthy diet and exercise, you can do it to!' because I needed this extra help to get here.

My partner was anti gray market until she saw my results and has a TR auto pen now . I also shared at work and other people then confessed their usage of various peptides .

Regarding the end of friendships, caused by change in someones life; I came across this article, which, although it is specifically about women, applies to all friendships, I think.

There's a moment most women can pinpoint with uncomfortable precision. A friendship that felt like home suddenly feels like a performance.

its been a mixed bag for me

I get a lot of questions about how I lost my weight, and I am very transparent about it. Once I say I am doing shots, most of them just check out of the conversation.

I am transparent about it cause I honestly think more of my acquaintances could be helped out a lot. But most of them are just not ready to hear that message. They still see it as cheating.

Skinny people just dont get it, so when I see judgy eyes I just write them off.

My doc is the most vocal about it, and he thinks I am insane. At first he thought I was getting it through a compounding pharmacy, which he said I was completely nuts for doing. I was like "no, you misunderstand, I am getting this from a Chinese lab", and then he was like "thats a1000 times worse" LOL

My doc would have a stroke right in front of me if I mentioned grey. 🤣

With reta, I'm very open and willing to discuss with pretty much with any non-stranger. The rest of my peptides on the other hand, I keep that mostly to myself, my sister, and one coworker also in peptides. Hell, I'm pretty sure my spouse didn't even know. You would think they would have questions about all the fingerprint like bruises on my ass from Klow.

I usually tell people if the subject comes up. I figure if telling my story helps another, then great! I was in the Lily Tirz study in 2020. That's how I got started. People usually ask me if I have to be on this stuff forever. I don't "think" I'm being judged. I tell people I'm wired differently. Its so nice to feel "normal" 😂
