GHK-Cu routine for cosmetic use?

I’ve used it every day starting late December. My range is 3–5mg per day (I’ve also used peptides for KLOW, but I keep them separate because I’m cheap, so those are currently cycled out and I stayed on GHK-Cu). To be honest, I didn’t notice anything until this week, when 2 things stood out:

1) The Botox I got most recently didn’t hold up as long. I had read that certain peptides might cause it to break down faster, BUT even now that I can make expressions again and my forehead creases appear when I do, the lines don’t remain. So when I check the mirror, none of those forehead lines are there. This morning I spoke with a friend who has been using it for roughly the same amount of time, and she said the same thing: her skin must have changed even if she hadn’t realized it, because she isn’t bothered by the Botox wearing off since it isn’t visible.

2) I really wish I had a before photo for this! I’m in my mid-40s, and my eyelids have been an issue for around a year. I had been considering a blepharoplasty, know I can’t afford it right now, and wondered whether insurance would pay since the left one was touching my eyelashes (the right one wasn’t as bad). Today while driving to work, I noticed it no longer touches my eyelashes, even when I open my eyes fully (before, it would touch even when my eye was only partly open). Don’t misunderstand—I’d still get the surgery immediately because it still needs improvement—but I went from wondering if insurance would cover it to seeing that it has pulled back somewhat and isn’t as severe as before. I have no idea when this changed, but it must have been extremely gradual since I didn’t notice it overnight.

I’m among those who get no reaction from it, unless I take 6mg at once; other than that, it’s no different from taking anything else. I take zinc when I remember or when I’m not being lazy.
I'm getting ready to reconstitute and begin the GHK injections, though I'm not looking forward to this aspect. It already seems to break down too quickly in my system, so accelerating that process isn't exactly what I want. My previous injections were 6 months ago (I had shoulder surgery right when the appointment was coming up, so it got pushed back), meaning everything has likely worn off completely by now. I seriously can't wait until they treat my masseters.
Honestly, I can't tell whether it's the GHK-Cu or something else making the botox wear off faster than it used to 🙁 From what I've read, anything that ramps up metabolism could do that. That said, I'm on several peptides, and most of them don't do anything for the skin, so another factor might be responsible. Hoping for the best!

KLOW around 1.5mg per day, meaning roughly 300 mcg from each of the remaining compounds

My skin has become denser and tougher. It gets noticeably difficult to push a needle through.

Body hair has grown thicker, and maybe a shade darker. (Could be MT2)

My face simply looks better. That's subjective, but that's my take.

For most people GHK-cu is likely no problem, though since I'm getting up there in years, I welcome any relief for the various pains I deal with.

Speaking of which.

All in all, inflammation is down, and some of my arthritis and overuse discomfort has eased.

I keep holding out hope that sticking with it will eventually fix my long-term tendon problems.

ISR pain

It's awful. For me it's really awful.

Upper glutes work best in my case. Yet despite adding extra BAC and using a massage gun too, the spot still hurts. Without a pause, that whole region progressively worsens. That forces me to quit for about 2 weeks before things settle back down.
My reason for wanting to begin GHK-cu was also inflammation. Since starting only a few days back, I've seen more pain, particularly around my feet and ankles. Could there be a period of adjustment, given that GHK has an effect on collagen? I'm attempting to work out whether this is merely a short-term response or another condition acting up.
Apologies for taking so long to get back to you

As far as I know, the only thing that comes up is temporary skin reactions in some people (the so-called Copper uglies). Beyond that, I haven't come across any side effects. Because it's a long term treatment, I'd be surprised if anything tied to collagen changes showed up for a long time. If any of the Growth Peptides are in the mix, water retention could explain it, though I'm not sure that applies to GHK.

Are you still dealing with this?

Sorry for the delayed answer

I am not aware of any side effects beyond some people have temporary skin reactions (The Copper uglies). It is a long term treatment so I would be surprised if you see anything related to collagen changes for a long time. If you are taking any of the Growth Peptides, they can retain water which might be an answer. Not sure GHK does though.

Still an issue?

Fortunately not! The extra discomfort turned out to be caused by low B12, since I had just lowered my normal B12 amount. Either way, I'm relieved about that, because I'm eager to keep using GHK.

I've heard that starting zinc a few days prior to Botox and continuing for a few days afterward may extend how long the tox lasts. That said, in my experience, even routine workouts and sauna sessions cause my Botox to fade much quicker compared to when I'm mostly inactive.

Ever since I began GHK-Cu, zinc has been part of my daily intake (plenty of folks claim it's unnecessary, yet it costs little, so I figure why not cover all angles). Still, back when CrossFit was a big part of my life, Botox would fade quickly because a faster metabolism burns through it—so I can relate. As for zinc, I haven't seen any difference, though perhaps without it things would have been even worse?

Incredible what everyone here is achieving. As for me, the differences I've seen: my heels used to crack constantly and now they feel completely smooth, and my cuticles don't tear apart anymore. Friends keep telling me I look radiant (not 1 of them is aware I use GHK-Cu, or has any idea what it even is LOL)

With KLOW, did you see better recovery in between training sessions? That's the reason I'm checking it out at the moment...

I've been really interested in ghk-cu for its potential effects on hair and skin, just like a lot of other people. But when it comes to how much to use, whether to cycle it, what side effects might show up, and pretty much every other detail, the information out there is all over the place. After weeks of looking into it, I honestly feel like I know less than I did at the start. 🥲

So here's what I want to ask:

  1. Has anyone used ghk-cu only for cosmetic reasons? If yes, were there any noticeable differences?
  2. What was your dosage, and for how long did you use it? (I've come across people who say to inject every other day, some who say 5 days on and 2 days off, and others who say to inject daily. In the same way, some claim you should cycle it for 6-8 weeks and then take a few weeks off, while others say you have to stay on it for months before seeing results.)
  3. Did you add a zinc supplement? (Some people insist a zinc supplement is a must, while others claim it "cancels out" what copper does.)
  4. Was there any intense burning or stinging at the injection site?
  5. If the main goal is appearance rather than healing, would a blend like GLOW or KLOW be a better choice?
I've seen some doctors on youtube (Dr. Alex Tatem and Dr. Ashley), and both of them say ghk-cu is "well-tolerated" by the body, but I've also come across awful accounts of people developing painful welts, swelling, and other reactions that last a long time after using it. I get that there's no set protocol for a research peptide, but I'm really hoping some kind folks here might share their own experiences?
Did you eventually get the answers you wanted, and if so, would you be willing to share them? I'm thinking about beginning a ghkcu and KPV stack.

From what I gather, GHK-Cu tends to help middle-aged and older individuals the most, because the body's own GHK-CU levels drop with age. Skin texture and firmness appear to get better, though for younger people the payoff might be quite small. Injections also seem like a real hassle (and painful, at that).

At 29, I've made the call to skip injecting GHK-Cu, but I do want to try putting together a topical serum with copper in it. When it comes to KPV, it looks like a reliable healing peptide that could work well for both gut and skin health.

When GHK-cu is used to aid recovery from muscle and tendon injuries, what is the protocol? Alongside it, I'll be dosing .5mg BPC-157 twice a day, plus 2.5mg TB-4 every Monday and Thursday.

With a 100mg vial reconstituted using 3ml BAC, pepcalc indicates that 1mg equals 3 units. Since I've seen folks here using 2mg, I assume a higher amount on my part won't be a problem.

When I placed the order, it never occurred to me that a kit containing 10 100mg vials would stretch beyond a year for me.

So, what does your "Tendon Healing" protocol look like?

I'm on 2mg of GHK-cu and feel absolutely no sting at all. With Glow, there was a slight stinging sensation. Did I end up with a vial of dried Smurf bits or something? I assumed that straight GHK-cu would sting more than the blended compound.

I even combined it with TB and BPC, then injected at my elbow site. Given how little fat is there, I was certain a sting would happen.

Anyone else order GHK from ERP within the past month? NAD+ came in the same order for me, and it's hitting hard.

Regarding hair, I can't give an opinion because I also take oral minoxidil each day. What I can report is that my fine lines have softened considerably and the loose skin on my neck is no longer visible. This product will always remain part of my rotation.
Is cycling part of your approach?

For more than a month, I've been injecting 2mg of GHk-Cu. My nails and cuticles seem healthier overall, and my heels—previously dry and cracked—are now baby smooth. At first, the shots stung. I tested several sites to find what worked best, and for me the thighs and glutes came out on top. Alongside that, I derma roll my face 1-2 times per week, followed by a GHk-Cu serum. There's been some tightening and smoothing of my face, though it's nothing mind blowing.

No cycling for me — 2mg daily.

I'm in the same boat. For GHK, it's 2mg each day, and I pair that with KPV at 1-1.5mg per day. I started around mid-March and I'm still going without a break.
