First tirz order arrived — a couple of questions before I start

My tirz order showed up today, and I've got a few things I want to double-check so I don't screw anything up.

First off, while it's still in the lyophilized (powdered) state, is it supposed to be one solid chunk all together? When I opened the package I accidentally had it upside down, and after I flipped the kit of vials right side up, the tirz looked like it had slid down the vial as a round block. I was expecting something more powdery, honestly. Is that normal?

I also want to confirm I'm storing it correctly before reconstitution — just a dark, cool spot out of direct sunlight, right? And after reconstitution, it goes in the fridge, correct?

Edit: One more thing — if I filter the tirz, do I need to recalculate my dose afterward?

The tirz is good to go. Anything I won't need for a few months goes in the freezer. What I plan to use stays in the fridge both before and after mixing...some people freeze the whole kit and take out 1 vial at a time. Since I finish a vial in 2 or 3 weeks, I usually take out 2 at once. Not sure about filtering. Congrats on ur 1st touchdown of many.

That's a smart move. If you end up with a stash that won't be touched for roughly a year—or even 3 to 5 years—there are plenty of discussions on here about improved storage methods. Options range from pricey setups to straightforward ones, such as sealing things in plastic under vacuum and placing them inside a 2 gallon igloo thermos that goes in the freezer.

You'll definitely want quality bac water — the H brand is what nearly everyone goes with. Should you decide to filter, you'll need additional vials or carts (carts are the way to go if you opt for pens, since they're more convenient and let you pick finer, shorter needle tips).

Because other members here have pulled it off without issues, what I do is reconstitute and filter enough to fill a few cartridges at once, then freeze them so it's faster whenever I run out.

I mix up just 1 vial at a time and store it in the fridge, while all the rest stays in the freezer. Freezer storage isn't mandatory, but it's straightforward and works as the realistic "best" option.

The usual idea is years compared to decades.

Do you have limited room in the freezer?

Once you mix peptides, the fridge is the right place for them, and roughly a month is fine. A handful of us, myself included, aren't too bothered if it stretches a little past that—say around 2 months or so. After bac water goes in, the real concern is bacteria or fungus creeping in, and that risk climbs the longer it sits and the warmer it gets, even with the bacteriostatic ingredient in the bac water. Before a needle touches the vial, wipe the top down with an alcohol swab. Doing 1 at a time is the smarter route, since you want the mixed version sitting around for a shorter stretch, not a longer one.

In powder form, peptides stay good for as long as years in a cool, dark spot, and considerably longer—up to decades—if you freeze them.

I'd mix up just 1 vial to store cold. When I want to prepare several at a time (which I do because I filter them), any extra that's tirzepatide rather than retatrutide goes into the freezer, and all the powder vials also get frozen. The official guidance says 30 days refrigerated once it's liquid, though plenty of people stretch it to 90 if it holds up that long—just keep verifying it stays completely clear. Anything that seems questionable should be tossed.
