Today I gave my sleep machine a thorough clean and sterilization, sealed it inside its bag, and put it away on the topmost shelf of my closet. It had served me for a decade.

Back in January I began Tirz, and only 2 weeks passed before my APAP machine started dialing itself lower. By the 2-month mark, it had reached the minimum setting. Another month went by, and I quit using it altogether. My sleep has been the best it’s been in years.

I’ve dropped 45 lbs, yet I’m still 20 lbs above the weight I had when my sleep apnea first appeared. The mechanism isn’t something I completely grasp (though I’m certain one exists), but it seems like a miracle when the impact on my SA can’t be fully attributed to weight loss.

In any case, I simply wanted to tell the 1 group of people who might get it. I feel such profound gratitude for this drug and for this community. I’m a GLP-1 lifer.

Nice work on getting rid of the cpap. Having to rely on one is just awful. This was my third time being on cpap. A few weeks back, though, I spoke with the respiratory therapist in my pulmonologist's office, and she gave me the go-ahead to "try" going without it. So I stopped using cpap, and my sleep is still garbage, though I suspect peptides are the reason 🤣. I genuinely believe the sleep apnea has resolved.

I see my doc on Tuesday and plan to request a sleep study to confirm.

That's fantastic news! A friend of mine also just stopped using his after dropping 45 lbs. He'd relied on apnea machines for a long time.

Wishing you the best of luck! I'm hoping you'll come back with positive updates before long. In the meantime, it makes me happy that you can start your mornings free of those odd creases pressed into your skin.

Wow!! That’s incredible. For some time now I’ve been fighting my CPAP nonstop. Problems with the mask and so on. Honestly, I haven’t noticed any upside whatsoever — if anything, things have gotten worse. I’d sooner spend the whole night jolting myself awake choking than put up with that. So my hope is that once I begin Tirz soon, it’ll make a difference as the weight comes off.

Whenever my mask shifted even slightly overnight, a burst of air would hit my eyes and jolt me awake—so I get what you're going through. Here's hoping Tirz does the trick for you just like it did in my case!

just so you know, the AirFit P30i mask made a huge difference in my case.

Yeah, nasals just aren’t an option for me. When my jaw falls open, it makes the throat blockage worse. Plus, a jaw wrap makes me feel like I’m [[Q1]] Scrooge with a toothache. I always end up tearing it off while I’m asleep.

I get exactly what you mean. After breaking my nose several times, one nostril always blasts air. Because of my beard, the straps have to be tightened so much that circulation gets cut off and my head starts pounding. Still, that keeps the mask in place, and most nights I don’t yank it off.
