Does NPP clash with the blue dye on the dopamine system?

Methylene blue has been part of my routine for a long while now, and the upsides, mild as they are, are worth having. What I'm considering next is a short cycle built on 300mg test-c and 200mg NPP. What nags at me is how NPP and methylene blue might collide where dopamine is concerned. A biologist I am definitely not, and on this particular subject I've been able to dig up almost nothing.

From what I've been able to work out, methylene blue protects the neurons that make dopamine and keeps dopamine from being depleted. NPP, by contrast, lowers dopamine receptor density and pulls extracellular dopamine down. So it seems to me that the methylene blue might take the edge off some of the emotional side effects. All I wanted was to check whether I'm reading that right, since plenty of people here understand these pharmacological interactions and the theory behind them far better than I do. Getting it badly wrong and making the adverse sides worse is the last thing I want. I posted the same question on Meso, though how useful that board is depends entirely on the day.

Real information about an MAO-I combined with nandrolone doesn't seem to exist anywhere.

I could feed it to Claude with a high effort prompt and then act like I know the answer. So could you.

Risking it is not something I'd do. There's a long list of safe things for managing sides, and jumping straight to something as retarded as methylene blue makes no sense. Then again, I haven't really dug into it. Report back on how it turns out. A pity there aren't more AAS people around here.

This isn't your first cycle, I take it. What made you pick nandrolone — the safety profile?

Methylene blue has been in my routine for years, and never as a way of managing a particular side. I mainly wanted to find out whether anybody here has real first hand experience with how the two interact. Most likely I'll simply set it aside while running the cycle. After an 18 month cut I'm finally sitting at roughly 12%, so a proper bulk is on the cards. Nandrolone is my pick because it tends to be tolerated well and, at conservative doses, the sides stay fairly mild. It also carries a reputation for adding a solid amount of lean mass. Beyond that, I'm genuinely looking forward to the joint relief — my left shoulder and right elbow have been bothering me for a while now, and nothing I've tried from peptides has helped. AAS is still new territory for me; this will be my second cycle. The first was Test plus a low dose of Var, which I tolerated without any trouble.

I'd really like to hear more specifics about your test and low dose var cycle. I'm trying to learn as much as I can since I'm thinking about running it myself. Funny enough, I just wrapped up writing a post on that very topic 30 seconds ago.

There's an older thread where I covered this.

Nandrolone has never given me emotional side effects. If you manage estrogen properly, prolactin problems won't arise.

I asked on Meso as well, but that place is pretty hit or miss as far as useful info goes.

Dude, for a couple of weeks just crank all of it up 3x. Any faint negative effects will get flushed right out into the open that way!

/Lolz and also -don't- do this.

When I ran NPP at 300mg, it wrecked me mentally. Nothing else went wrong. I doubt I'll touch any more 19Nor's, since I'm rather attached to my marriage and would like to keep it going lol. On top of that, keeping estrogen in check doesn't keep prolactin in check. Each one has to be watched and dealt with on its own. Fortunately I never hit any issues there, though I also wasn't using a huge ammount.

In the end, Methylene Blue and NPP got along without any issue. My caution was excessive, and I simply wanted to have a plan in place should anything go wrong. Once I begin mapping things out, I have a habit of overthinking and turning careful. That never actually holds me back, given how absurdly high my risk tolerance is. Even so, I still wind up obsessing over tiny particulars that typically turn out to be irrelevant.

Nandrolone is not going to bring on prolactin problems unless estrogen goes up first, that I can promise you. Keep estrogen in check and 19 nors won't give you prolactin trouble. A case of high prolactin alongside low estrogen while on cycle simply isn't out there. I ran 200 test alongside 900 Deca and had zero issues, and I wasn't using any ancillaries. The real culprit is outdated bro science pushing the idea that test has to be run higher than Deca.

Stories people share aren't the same thing as proven fact. No two people have the same genetics, and each person responds to a given compound in their own way. I've spoken with individuals who dealt with prolactin problems, and I've come across forum posts describing the same thing. They were watching their E2 and keeping it in check, yet their prolactin still spiked, they ended up with sensitive nipples, and one buddy of mine even developed leaking gyno while his e2 sat in the 30's. Good for you if you can run 19Nor's with no concerns, but that doesn't mean everyone can, or that most people can. Treating your own experience as the standard really lets down newcomers who haven't learned the ropes yet.

What I'm drawing on here is decades spent both researching this and living it myself. You're putting forward something that, across all that time, I have never once seen occur — not on any forum, not face to face. And it isn't just my own history I'm going off. There are individuals whose prolactin was already elevated before they ever touched a 19 nor, and that's a completely separate scenario; naturally those people are going to be more susceptible to problems. My position doesn't change: get proper blood work done beforehand, keep estrogen under control, and 99% of the time you'll be fine.

That is something that ought to be handled regardless. Still, having e2 in range is no reason for someone to overlook prolactin. Once more, I'm happy your own experience has been ideal, but that isn't proof it plays out that way for everybody. That's what's known as the anecdotal fallacy.
