Customs clearance advice

Hello,

not sure if this is the right place for this topic, but here we go:

I currently have a package stuck in customs. I should provide customs with the following documents:

  • a detailed description of the goods
  • proof of payment

I already provided them with an invoice from the vendor. Perhaps I should not have sent this document to them on second thought.. 😅

It is all handled via DHL Express, and there is currently no indication that the package has already been opened (as far as i can tell).

Since I can't show/come up with a proof of payment for this amount, I'm stuck and don't know what to do.

Clearance ends in about 1 week. Not sure if they will send the package back, destroy it, or even open it - which would be the most unfortunate case.

Do you guys have any ideas on how to get the package, or is it a "lost case"?

Already messaged the vendor, but they did not really help. They also have not offered a reship/refund yet.

Has anyone had a similar experience? What happens after the clearance deadline?

My condolences, I am so sorry for your loss.

Customs aren't stupid, they probably know what's in there but want details from you personally (I'm assuming to incriminate you).
 
Heh. "We're holding your package because we suspect it's peptides you bought from China. Before we pretend to destroy it and probably just distribute it to our friends and families, would you mind please confirming that it's peptides you bought from China, which ones you got, and who you bought it from so we can get that much better at confiscating packages and also so our friends and family can know the dosages? Would appreciate the COA too, if you've got it. Warm regards, Customs."
 
Question for all my European friends:

How are your experiences with customs for shipments from China? As far as I have seen, a lot of packages go through without any problem(?).

For the future, is there anything I can do to improve the chances of it passing customs?

A. Don't provide evidence, ignore anything Customs.

C. Chose a vendor with a reship policy.
