Combining Tirz, Reta, and Cagri in one vial — is that safe?

Hi everyone,

Right now I take 1.5mg of Cagrilintide along with 15mg of Tirz. After I increased from 12mg Tirz by itself, I dropped roughly another 20lbs, but things have stalled over the last few weeks, and I'm still well above the 240lbs I'm aiming for. So I'm giving serious thought to moving from Tirz over to Reta. The problem is that three separate shots feels like a lot to handle (and they add up in cost). Could I just combine Tirz, Reta, and Cagri ahead of time in one vial and do a single injection, or would they end up reacting with each other?

I'm wondering the same thing.

My approach: pull from every vial into one syringe, then give myself just 1 shot.

I use all 3 as separate injections. Mixing them together isn't something I'd do.

Simply administer them in sequence, one after the other — that works without issue

To determine whether these peptides are safe to combine, this resource may be worth reviewing.

When it comes to combining GLPs with other peptides, the long-standing consensus has been that it's a bad idea:

Incretin Mimetics (what most people refer to as glp1s) are highly reactive with other peptides and cause gelling/aggregation when mixed in solution. This renders them ineffective at best and possibly triggering immunogenic responses.

There's also a viewpoint that because so much is unknown, peptides shouldn't be combined at all—not even in a single syringe right before injecting. I came across a mouse study in which GHK basic and GHK-Cu were mixed, so that particular combo would likely be fine by me.

A few Chinese suppliers offer tirz and reta already blended, though I'm not aware of anyone who actually purchases it. Last fall, when MIX accidentally combined tirz + reta, they recalled it. One vial reseller sold me a bottle from that recall, so it just sits in my freezer for a peptide apocalypse.

The cagri + sema blend the Chinese sell also comes across as amateur hour next to Big Pharma:

Without the advanced pharmaceutical buffers designed specifically to bridge their pH gap, mixing a GLP-1 and an amylin analogue in a single solution will almost certainly cause them to interact, degrade, or form microscopic aggregates.

By the way, cagri and sema by themselves appear to be more natural (less foreign) to the immune system than tirz or reta.

Are 2 syringes at $.36 really that pricey?

$0.24 based on what I most recently found. I had to purchase a full year's worth so I wouldn't pay shipping, but oh well...And like you said = Chump Change

The outcome hinges largely on who supplied the vial — specifically the excipients present in the lyophilized puck — along with how much BAC and which type was used. It might succeed on one occasion, then fail at another temperature, or turn cloudy after sitting in the fridge for several days.

Reta and cagri are each troublesome to reconstitute on their own, and combining them is a gamble even when it "worked once." Tirz and cagri, by contrast, reconstitute more easily, and I might consider it if I had vials I didn't mind discarding.

Because you're introducing reta regardless and presumably intend to titrate upward, that one ought to remain separate no matter what.

I've yet to come across Easy Touch—or any other brand-name option—priced at $.12 apiece.

Even when the appearance in a vial or syringe seems fine, problems may still arise — particularly with prolonged use.

Take reta by itself: it may not turn cloudy, yet TFA salt concerns can persist while being harder to spot. A Jano test exists specifically for TFA, but hardly anyone is willing to cover its cost.

Two options: Subscribe and Save, which tops out at 320 days as far as I remember, gets you another 5% off; alternatively, a promo code I had to hunt around for knocked 5% off with no subscription needed. My order came to $108.95 with tax and free shipping after that 5% discount, covering 9 boxes of 100 (really 1 5-pack plus 4 single boxes).

Best of luck

Great, appreciate it!

I've got several hundred sitting around in different setups, though it's always good to hear about the best bargains!

I've got 200 of the .05 and 200 of the 1ml 31g 8mm, though those don't cost much.

Reta was only begun by me last week, then Cagri got added yesterday evening. One syringe or one vial was not used for mixing, partly since I'm trying to determine whether one particular pair or stack performs better than another. Because the amounts of reta and cagri taken yesterday evening were so small, I'm certain this weekend will have me eating like a slovenly pig until my Saturday Tirz injection. Also I'm weighing whether Cagri should be combined with Tirz too. Plenty of testing ahead.

Appreciate you bringing that up — I went ahead and placed an order since the cost was reasonable, and because Amazon won't deliver those to where I live anymore, I was looking for a reliable supplier.

My guess is that the Cagri from this injection is what caused it, but yesterday from roughly 11am until at least 3pm I felt EXTREMELY LIGHTHEADED. It eased up after that, and I wasn't dehydrated or hungry, but I worried a vestibular migraine might be starting. Since my gastric sleeve, I've had just 1 in the past 5 years. Still, it went away, so perhaps that was the cause? During that stretch my heart rate stayed completely the same, at least according to my apple watch.

Because of worries that cagri can form fibrils, keeping it unmixed with other compounds may be the wiser choice. Also, if your plan is to gradually transition over to reta, you'll need to tweak the tirz/reta dosing, and having them combined would complicate that process.

Should you be looking to cut down on syringes and injections, drawing some or all of them into a single syringe would carry less risk, since they wouldn't sit together as long as they would inside a vial. In an ideal scenario cagri would be kept apart, but for my own doses I put all 3 into one syringe. tirz4.5mg/reta1.4mg/2 days and cagri 0.25/4 days.
