Would stacking a low dose of semaglutide on top of retatrutide be a sensible way to boost appetite suppression? If anyone here has already experimented with this, what dosing would you recommend, given that I'm currently on roughly 8 mg of reta each week?

I'd bet at least 1 person in this space is running that, but around here the Reta + Tirz pairing gets picked more often by test subjects chasing the same outcome.

Stacking GLP peps stirs up plenty of disagreement, and not because people are currently reporting bad reactions — it's the missing research and evidence about whether such a stack is biologically safe.

1 idea holds that Reta, compared with the other GLPs, carries different glucose effects and requirements, and could partly blunt the other's efficacy.

Another angle: watch the overall receptor stimulus, since (some of) the same receptors end up being stacked.

Given those worries, a frequent workaround is to stack Cagrilintide instead, because it acts through a different receptor / function while still delivering solid food noise suppression.

All that said, I ran the Reta+Tirz stack for a short stretch purely to get the food noise quieting that Tz provides, felt fine on it with no adverse effects, though I'm forever learning, growing, adapting, refining my protocols. Risk thresholds and appetite for the unknown differ from person to person — ultimately, stay open-eyed and open-minded, and pay attention to what your body tells you.

Tirz appears to work best for this purpose, so making a switch looks like the stronger option. A decent case exists that stacking a small amount of Reta onto a Tirz protocol could boost results, though you should remember that quicker fat loss usually means more muscle gets lost along the way. Proper nutrition and resistance training can offset that, but if you're already doing both, the extra push probably isn't necessary.

Wegovy is what my doctor has me on, at a 2.4mg semaglutide dose.

Progress has stalled on this medication. Since July 2025 of last year, my weight hasn't budged. 5lbs is probably the upper limit of what I've managed to shed.

My plan is to add retatrutide at either 0.25mg or 0.5mg, with Monday, April 13 2026 as the start date.

Monday is also when I'll do my usual wegovy injection.

Then on Thursday, retatrutide gets introduced.

Here's hoping this experiment doesn't do me in!

What kind of results did you get from that? I found myself in a similar situation, and for the past few months I’ve been running a Sema and Reta stack. I’ve been thinking about swapping the Sema out for Tirz. Side effects haven’t been severe for me, though the Sema does leave me somewhat constipated…

The results were fantastic! I dropped just 4 lbs. Still, I'm happy that it made a difference.

Right now, I'm stacking Tirz + Reta. After 6 weeks of stacking, I've shed close to 5 lbs! I'll start another thread to document my Tirz + Reta experience.

You can read about my Sema+Reta experience here

I've spent just over 5 weeks now layering .125mg of Sema twice per week on top of my 9mg of Reta, also taken twice per week, with the shots spaced out on different days.

My very first dose was .25mg (I'd been aiming for .5mg each week), and it hit me harder than I'd anticipated—more of an effect and a queasy, off feeling.

Over these 5 weeks I've dropped 17lb, though part of that is just water coming off after I quit creatine.

Adding sema on top of reta works well. As a GLP1 agonist, reta isn't very potent. Sema acts purely on GLP. In essence, you're covering the area where reta falls short. With tirz, I have doubts, since reta and tirz both hit GIP hard.

My current protocol is 2.4mg of Sema alongside 4mg of Reta. Once I push Reta any higher, my sleep quality takes a hit.

What amount are you taking?

Right now I take 7mg of Reta, and this week I intend to introduce a small 2.5mg dose of triz simply to reduce my food noise. At the moment I'm dropping 3.5 pounds each week, so my goal isn't to make it faster—I just want to quit obsessing over food constantly.

If you aren't severely overweight, then having food noise at that rate of weekly weight loss is normal. Losing that quickly is too much, and you likely ought to eat more so it's at most 2lbs per week.

Ignore this if you are severely overweight.

My starting weight was 290, and right now I'm sitting at 255. At one point I was dropping 5.5 pounds weekly, but after upping my calorie intake I've settled at 3.5.

I believe there’s already a thread covering this, but mixing them still seems risky for your gallbladder and could bring other problems too.

Yes, that’s right. I’m still working on reducing the pace. Each day I get more than 180 grams of protein, and I’m aiming to raise my calorie intake gradually.

When you want to add calories so weight loss slows down, fat and carbs tend to be simpler ways to get those calories in.

If the goal is a 1% w/w loss, then you're about 500 calories short each day.

Right now I take 5mg of Tirz, plus Reta at just 2.5 mg.

Zepbound was what I got prescribed at the very beginning of my peptide journey. On that by itself, my response was strong and I dropped 30+ lbs.

Because Tirz worked so strongly for me, Reta stays at 2.5mg. Tirz gets titrated only once every 2-3 months.

Since your Reta dosage is high, your idea of keeping Tirz low makes a lot of sense.

That's incredibly helpful to know! I've been dealing with a lot of dizziness and feeling light headed. Wow!

Running 1.2mg sema alongside 8mg reta each week. Progress had slowed to a crawl, so I began tapering: right now it's 1.2mg sema with 4mg reta. Reta comes off gradually across the next 12 weeks, then sema holds alone for 6 weeks to see whether the weight returns. If it does not, sema gets stepped down too — 0.2mg every 4 weeks — while I hunt for the dose that maintains me.
