Got my first pen and thought, I inject this frequently enough, why not try GLOW in the pen? Then I can finally try self injecting my arm. I watched a guy do it in a video - he flipped his elbow up so the back of his arm was facing forward by his head, then he stuck himself with a pen while he talked to the camera. I tried to find other things about how to in your own arm, but wasn't finding anything where they actually show you. Anyway, I reconned with extra BAC water to help with sting factor. 70mg/5ml - I also filtered it. I pinned glute with regular needle the first dose. 2nd dose was with the pen. Both with no ISR whatsoever (I was on a round of KLOW prior and felt all the sting and bruise ISRs in thighs, belly, and glute/lovehandle). So I finally get the guts to try the back of the arm like I saw the guy do on the 3rd dose.
Identified a thick enough spot to ensure I'm in a fat layer in the position, swabbed it with the alcohol, waited for it to dry, and let the pen sit out for like 15 or so min. Then I just did what I think the guy did. Felt a little awkward but no sting, just hard to hold the positing and stay still while keeping the pen in place for ten seconds. Voila, I did it!!
Four hours later while I'm at work I start to feel the spot. Then it feels like it's spreading up to my arm pit, but not wild yet. I check it briefly in between clients (I do massage). Over the next few clients it starts to intensify. As the hours tick on, I felt it down the ulnar side of my forearm and even more pain up into my arm pit. I started to become more concerned. Are there red streaks? Do I need to go to the ER? Can I just pop some Doxy when I get home? Did I miss the area I swabbed with alcohol? Don't my axillary lymph nodes kinda feel warmer and swollen? Check the mirror in between clients and it still looks fine, just a little redness and so much fainter than my ISRs to KLOW. I pinched the site which did feel like a little lump and shook it before my last client. By the end of the day the pain was gone.
Is that weird? I have had a delayed isr after icing once (burned for hours before subsiding) and I've had lingering pain, but I haven't had spreading/shooting pain with any of the other ones, even the worst bruising ones.
