Anyone splitting Tirz into 2 weekly doses?

Is there anyone here who uses Tirz 2 times per week? What I'm asking is whether people divide the weekly amount across 2 separate days—taking 1 early in the week and the other toward the end?

If you split the dose so that one lands at the start of the week and the other at the end, wouldn't that just be the same day? 🤣

A lot of people on the forum inject 2X per week, usually something like day 3 and day 7. This is known as split dosing, and it gives you steadier drug levels. According to some, it keeps food noise at bay more reliably and cuts down on sides.

I've never tried split dosing myself. Early on I came across something suggesting it wasn't as effective, though I'm not sure that holds up. Still, it lodged in my mind like an urban legend. I stick to weekly injections purely out of convenience.

A young MD—someone I assist with gray—follows this approach. Day 5 - 7 brings him weaker appetite suppression, which is the problem he's up against. The idea is that it tames food noise while cutting down side effects. On 1x/wk dosing he deals with GERD. According to him, it's working. His loss is very slow, around 1lb/wk.

My own first attempt at 2x/wk dosing came about because of side effects (tinnitus, prickly skin sensation, GERD), though I soon moved to Cagrilintide .5mg mid-week instead. More recently still, I put Reta 1mg into the mix. With a 6d rotation, that means another shot every 2d.

And no, it isn't working. 5 weeks stalled at this point. I haven't settled on what to do next. Work takes me away for 3 months shortly. Losing is easier for me there. There's nothing else to do except work out, and no alcohol.

My Tirz shot happens on Tuesday, and when the food noise creeps back later in the week, I add a small 0.5mg dose of Cagrilintide to carry me through.

Monday night and Friday morning were the two slots I picked when dividing my Tirz doses.

That works out to a steady 3,5 days apart, and it lines up best for me when it comes to cutting back the pull toward snacking and having a drink or two 😇 over the weekend.

Of course, when someone prefers to time it is a personal matter, but spacing Tirz at 84h has worked well in my case.

I inject the entire Tz dose once every 6 days. Then on day 3 I inject 1.2 of Survo. My losses are slow, and the reasons are hydration, sleep and cortisol. Not enough, not enough, too much. I'm working on it.

My native language is German, and my English is limited. The translation tool appears to be quite unreliable 🙈.

I've split my doses this way from day 1, and I haven't had any side effects or midweek slumps. My routine: half of my Reta dose, then 2 days later half of my tirz dose, then 2 days later the other half of my Reta dose, then 2 days later the other half of my tirz dose. I'm below goal at this point

I plan on Monday to take 1.5 to 2.0 MG of Tirzep, and on Thursday 1.5 to MG Reta. At least that’s what I intend to do—for the past six weeks I’ve been on 3.0 MG Tirzep each week.

Bill.

Not splitting, but I tightened up my timing a bit—now it's every 6 days rather than 7. The dose stayed the same as before, which, from what I gather, works out to a small bump when you're on that 6-day rhythm? Either way, during the first week of this change I dropped 3 pounds, and I haven't run into that 5-day dip at all anymore.

I split my Tirz doses before, but these days I’m back to a single weekly shot. The reason is that I take Reta 5 days after Tirz, plus Cagri, and together they wipe out my appetite entirely. With several peps in the mix right now, injecting that frequently got on my nerves. Still, when I did split Tirz, it worked really well for me.

Ouch. That is rough.

For years I've dealt with BED, so honestly it feels great that food no longer dominates my thoughts. Still, that's exactly why no two people are the same.

My routine is identical, and it’s been effective in my case.

I divide my dose. Tuesday morning at 8am I take 3.5mg, then Friday evening at 8pm another 3.5mg. Tirzepatide is the only thing I’m using—I haven’t tried anything beyond that. For me it helps keep things steadier, if that comes across clearly. I’ve also found that my side effects are noticeably reduced with this approach.

I inject once every 5 days, and I haven’t experienced any side effects. My husband reacts strongly to GLP-1’s, but switching to the 5 day schedule has wiped out every side effect he previously had.

I've been injecting mounjaro for 28 weeks now. My starting dose was 2.5 mg/week, then after 4 weeks I moved up to 5mg and have kept it at 5mg since. Injections have always fallen on day 7. Starting weight: 101kg. Current weight: 78 kg. On day 6 I would always notice hunger noise. Still, it was never a major issue. Even with that hunger noise, I couldn't eat much beyond what I ate the rest of the week. Rather than split my dosage, I split my portions on day 6. My first grey market Tirz was ordered 2 weeks ago and arrived 2 days ago. I haven't pinned it yet and I'm unsure whether it differs from mounjaro at all. But in my view, splitting the dosage is completely unnecessary.

BP and grey product might not behave the same for you.

Nice work on your progress so far!
