This might come across as a newbie question, and I won't apologize for that (though sorry about that part). I'm not new, but I'm new enough to be asking. Does anyone else feel jittery just before sticking a fresh vial? I've done the research, gone through the COAs, the calculations, and the reconstituting and filtering correctly but, I notice I get a bit anxious because of the unknown nature of it being grey, I get that on the whole, we are "okay" in our research. Perhaps I'm just looking for some reassurance. Please be kind in your answers 🙂

What exactly is making you uneasy?

Spoiler: Why I ask...

If your goal is to keep your anxiety in check, then me throwing out guesses about what's behind it might just hand you extra worries you hadn't even thought of — which would work against what you were originally trying to do.

Not something only a beginner would ask🙂 I still feel on edge whenever I inject from a fresh batch. Even though I'm aware there's no reason for concern. That's just how my brain works, though. Plenty of people won't react this way. I most likely always will...

Trying a peptide for the first time brings me excitement mixed with a bit of apprehension. A fresh vial of something I've already used doesn't do that, though. Within one kit, they usually aren't comparable to a box of chocolates. Since ISRs are a factor, I'm curious how Mots-C will affect me this coming week — that's the only part I'm wondering about.

That the vial I bought—whether it's a fresh batch or the same one—holds something completely and utterly malicious. 😳

One day I came across a reply on TG that read "there could be fentanyl in it, for all I know," and that's exactly when the jitters started.

Anxiety isn't usually my thing, and I do go ahead and inject anyway. In the end, it comes down to the trade-off between cost and danger that we all know about.

It doesn't look like fentanyl ends up in vials at the manufacturing stage.

That said, starting any kit with a tiny test dose is still a smart move.

Also worth noting: "Naloxone will not harm someone if they are not overdosing on opioids, so it is always safer to use it if you are unsure" (Gemini).

Having an EpiPen on hand counts as another safety net.

I've come across reports of systemic allergic reactions to peptides such as MOTS-C when given by IM (in those cases the EpiPen or Neffy would help), yet I haven't heard of any vial containing hidden opioid powder.

If fentanyl were ever present in a vial—something that is extraordinarily improbable—my first suspicion would be that BP was behind it, aiming to manipulate the market...

Getting the COA for your kit gives you a decent—though not flawless—sense of what's coming. On top of that, it helps when the vendor has a big following and guards their reputation. For me, those 3 factors tend to settle the jitters before that first pin.

Absolutely! It never crossed my mind to keep one around in case a pin triggered an allergic reaction (Fentanyl was just brought up as an illustration of something shady). Since bee stings are a problem for me, I always keep one nearby.

That really helped. My nerves dropped a lot!

🙂

Vendors have shipped the incorrect item before. Testing is exactly why we do it—so you're certain of what's going into your body.

I keep having this nagging fear that peptides from Chinese suppliers will end up laced with fentanyl.

A few rituals I've settled into:

--If it's something brand new to me, I'll forward the COA and the source to my work-wife, message her when I take it, then message again half an hour later. The main reason is that if it kills me, she can come get my cats before they get too hungry.

--With a fresh vial, I check that I've got shoes on, my phone has a charge and is within reach, my purse is with me, and that the ducks and cats have already eaten and have clean water.

None of this is some huge dramatic production, since I don't truly think anything bad will happen. Still, it settles me a little, like a wishing well, to know that if something DID go wrong, I did SOMETHING.

To be honest, not at all.

I just dove right in.
Exactly. If fear is what you're feeling, gray isn't the right path. Risk can only be reduced to a certain point—past that, it comes down to a chinese american trust fall.

Exactly! We volunteer with a friend's non-profit that trains people and distributes free Naloxone. Plenty of locations offer it at no cost! Ours is always within reach (mainly stored in our vehicles), though we also keep several boxes inside the home specifically for scenarios like this. It might be something as minor as handling trash outside our house that turned out to have fentanyl on it, or it might be a particularly bad batch of tirz. My anxiety is what keeps me safe (most of the time)

All of that makes sense, but honestly, just let the cats have you. It's the circle of life, after all.

How I see it when it comes to narcs being in vials:

There's no way they'd stick narcs in vials, since narcs pull in waaaay more money than peps do. On top of that, the moment one of these fuckers kills somebody with this stuff, gray is gone for good and so is every dollar they're pulling in from it. Honestly, I'm fully convinced they go out of their way to keep us safe, because hurting us would wreck their business.

My only concern is whether I messed something up. That's why I run my numbers through a dosage calculator each and every time, and I'm always, like, checking 3 times that the vial I'm pulling from is actually the one I believe it is. Way too many 'whoopsie' horror stories out there.

As for the tiny (in my view) chance that my batch vial happens to be "the one" hiding a razor blade — I don't stress over that, since I won't inject anything that hasn't been tested at least a time or two over.

That reasoning makes complete sense to me — I'm 100% behind it.
