I’ve been on GLPs and four other Pepitides since April. I’ve decided to get a very deep comprehensive blood panels every four months while on the peps. I’ve always done a fairly comprehensive annual blood test and have always had great markers. This blood test I literally had every test you could want to see regarding Pepitide use and total health. I even performed an auto immune disease test which came back negative. I had only four areas out of wack. Two were zero issue but a kidney and creatine panel came back a tad more concerning. My doctor called me and asked if I was on creatine and I said yes. He said to stop immediately that the creatine was damaging my kidneys. I stopped immediately and was even going to consult a nephrologist. Well last night I was doing my walk and listening to the podcast I added below. Got to about 7:30 into the podcast. He talks about the myths of creatine and listen to myth one. Oh my fucking god. Is there any doctor on this planet that knows what the fuck they are doing? It’s getting old. I’ve included a photo of blood panel being discussed here.

Nope. Some of them are competent in a few areas they are interested in but as an industry they are falling badly behind the science, they just don't routinely keep up so a lot of their knowledge is from when they were in Med school.

He's not a medical doctor. He has a Ph.D. in exercise physiology. He's just a fitness instructor who wrote a dissertation on the subject. And he has something to sell.

PSA, once a year.

Sex hormones, especially if you have signs of hypogonadism or if you’re taking them. Pregnenolone, especially if you have memory lapses or trouble concentrating.

Thyroid function, if you haven’t had it checked in a long time.

Blood sugar and HbA1c, okay. Insulin if there’s a real problem, but not mandatory.

Vitamin D: okay if you have concerns about your ability to absorb it and aren’t taking supplements. Vitamin B12: okay; important if you’re taking metformin. Add folate.

Lipid profile and liver enzymes: okay.

Iron: okay. Magnesium (Mg++): everyone is deficient in it...

Omega-3: It depends on the price… it’s better to take it (algae oil has far fewer heavy metals than fish or krill).

Homocysteine: I’m not sure; I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow and I was planning to ask him about it.

What was your urine protein uACR ? Combine that with eGFR OF 58 if it's higher than 30. You may have worries.

Your doctor is an idiot, find another.

You should have taken/should take cystatin C to check kidney function while taking supplemental creatine.

I just had this with my new GP.. EGFR was 85, he actually said "lets run a CystatinC" and it came back @ 87.. I'm taking 5 grams of creatine a day...

Should get APO B and A tested as well. Better indicators of cardiac health. A is only needed really once and APO B is going give a more accurate picture of cardiac health than standard lipids.

Just having more muscle mass than average will raise creatinine. EGFR would make me want to do further kidney testing like Cystatin C.

Since you're likely one late night impulse away from getting HGH, IGF-1 and Z score.

PSA once a year with a family history of prostate cancer. I hope you’re kidding. My magnesium was 5.5, so not everybody. To each their own. You do you. I’ll do me.

I'm no doctor, and certainly no expert in anything peptide or medical related, but I did just run labs last week on everything you did (plus a bit more), and my creatine was fine. I DO supplement with 10g of creatine a day, in a divided 5g dose. I do take KLOW and RETA. Just throwing that out there. I've been taking the pep's for about 6 weeks, but I've been taking the creatine for years. My creatine on previous labs was also in the normal range. I'm not sure if that helps you at all, but thought I'd share my own personal experience.

I'll trade ya, my LDL is high (LDL 165/Trigs 65/ HDL 85.. Lean Mass Hype Responder) and thankfully my doctor didn't just panic and shove a statin down my throat... but it's still a concern he's worried about even though all my other metabolic markers are very good.. it does get frustrating when your trying to "do the right thing". 😤😤

My cholesterol has always been great. It was 145 this time and LDL was low. The one thing that bothered me a tad is my testosterone came back 200 points lower. It was 850 last year. This year it’s at 650. Not concerning. But I’m monitoring. Getting old sucks. Don’t let the old man in.

Bill

Had same thing with Kidneys function, stopped creatine for a while and all fine. Small infections can hike it as well.

Did first bloods after 8 weeks and all cholesterol markers improved 20%!

BWHAHA... love that "don't' let the old man in.." 650 is still nothing to snuff at for Testosterone

My LDL has always been high, every since I switched my diet to more of a "low carb" type thing..

I actually am recovering currently from septoplasty surgery.. i've gone down so many "Rabbit Holes" this last 2 weeks my head hurts... the hope is my my UARS is what was driving up my "non-dipper" bp and my high LDL.. I'll guess we'll find out soon enough...

That's my next plan is to have my Overall Testosterone labs ran when I'm recovered.

The fact that we are here is everything. I love sharing medical information and of course not for what to do. Only for what we choose to do. My health has never been better and I’m super excited for the future. Love when we stack on the threads and take these deeper dives. I fucking love it. Always learning and evolving.

Agreed! I actually couldn't agree more.

The medical stuff is fascinating to me if anything.

The new GP I went to actually works with me and I give him medical studies which he actually took from me to read. That's a total win in my book.

The best part is when he walks in and says "ahh! my FAVORITE patient!"

Agree with you as well, my health is the best it's ever been so I must be doing something right?

Don’t panic. Go see a nephrologist, they’ll run some more tests on you. Cystatin C and a uACR test besides others. If you do have kidney issues, there are treatments you can take to slow the decline like SGLT2 inhibitors. The problem with the kidneys is that they don’t hurt when their function declines. But as a person who’s mother is on dialysis, please at least hear them out and go see a specialist. Good luck
