9 vials in a kit

My 2nd gray order just arrived, 2 kits, and oddly 1 of them had only 9 vials inside the box instead of a full set. When I reached out to the vendor to ask why, the response was that 1 had been pulled for testing. After I pressed for more detail, s/he said customs had taken 1 for a test. Has anyone else run into something like this? My thinking is that if customs actually ran a test on the contents, they would have seized the whole package, unless the test was specifically looking for drugs. The vendor threw in a $5 discount on the next order

Curious to hear from you all - is this a believable explanation, or is the vendor someone I shouldn't trust with more orders?

Whenever I hear about this happening, my first thought is that it could be a kit someone sent back after a failed test. Take the refund process: if you test your product and then ask the vendor for your money back, they make you ship the kit to them. I have no doubt those same kits get passed along to somebody else.

If I were the one receiving 9, the paranoid part of me would worry it was one of those returned kits. Then again, maybe a vial just cracked and got removed. No way to know

If Customs had actually done something along those lines, my expectation would be that you (and/or the shipper) would receive a written notice. So no, I wouldn't take your seller at their word. At most, there was some kind of error involving the machinery or the people packing the kit, and it slipped past everyone.

With the "no source discussion" rule you currently have, I'm not sure what can be said, but this thread would be far more useful if the vendor's name were on the table.

In my opinion, they simply failed to include a complete kit and are now acting clueless with you. If customs had taken any interest in your package, it would never have arrived at your door 100%. A human error occurred, and that happens.

Now I'm concerned too. I had no idea that vendors request the batch to be sent back... the tracking via Germany was uneventful, nothing about customs inspections.

In my opinion, they simply failed to include a complete kit and are now acting clueless with you. If customs had taken any interest in your package, it would never have arrived at your door 100%. A human error occurred, and that happens.

Here's the picture that was sent to me prior to packing. The top kit appears full, though it's difficult to tell.

I'm sincerely hoping it was simply a swap and that what you're thinking is right.

A bit of Polish from Ireland Witam kolege That said, assuming the photo is genuine and shows precisely what arrived to you, that is really strange. Was there any sign the package had been opened prior to it reaching you?

OK, I wasn't aware the process moves that quickly. So if customs did actually pull that single vial, tested it, and found peptides instead of the "face mask powder" or whatever the shipment was listed as, then why did they let it through instead of seizing it?

Now I'm concerned too. I had no idea that vendors request the batch to be sent back... the tracking via Germany was uneventful, nothing about customs inspections.

Were it shipped from China, I'd feel better about it. From what I've gathered about return shipments, nobody was told to send anything back to China.

Assuming the vendor has a solid reputation, chances are there's nothing to worry about.

I really can't say. From what I gather, their conclusion was simply that these aren't drugs, and that was it—so the remaining items were allowed to continue. Given how many peptide tests they'd have to run, I doubt they have any. Once more, everything here is just guesswork. According to the article, this kind of thing has been occurring more often in the EU and UK.

A recent shipment I received from China had this problem. Two kits were ordered, yet a single vial was absent from one of them.

When I reached out to the vendor, they didn't have a clear explanation either. Officially, they blamed customs, but nothing about the box suggested it had been opened — no rips, and no extra tape layered over the existing tape to reseal it.

My own view is that customs wasn't responsible. Had they pulled a vial for testing, the entire parcel would likely have been detained or kept for a period, rather than just 1 vial being removed.

To their credit, the vendor refunded me, which I do appreciate, though it's still frustrating because I'll now need to place another order earlier than I would have if the kit had arrived complete.

I'm based in the UK, and it seems a handful of other UK/EU buyers from this same vendor ran into the identical problem during that week.

Was there any sign that the box had been opened and then sealed back up? I figure you'd spot that right away.

On top of that, if they'd really pulled something out, I'd expect them to include a note explaining the action and the reason the full order didn't arrive.

Honestly, this smells like a fabricated story to me.

If customs got involved, they'd seize the entire shipment. A few vendors will throw in a complimentary vial of some peptide as a sample when you request it — though that usually requires buying at least 1 kit first. This looks like a case where a vial was removed and the kit never made it over to the sample area. I pull the same trick on my wife: I come home with a pizza, she notices a slice missing, and I just say "Bastards"....

Sounds like they're skimping on what you paid for. Once they do that with enough "short" kits, they've got a whole extra kit to move to another buyer without spending a thing.
