9 vials in a kit

Sounds like they're skimping on what you paid for. Once they do that with enough "short" kits, they've got a whole extra kit to move to another buyer without spending a thing.
Making 1 vial costs them roughly 0 yuan total
What do you all think? When someone places a huge group buy of 500 kits, discounts can hit 60% or more.... so assuming a kit of t30 goes for 35, my guess is they need to clear 20-25 per kit... meaning they're paying maybe 9-12 bucks a kit for a salesgroup... which puts manufacturer cost at 2.50 and their sell price at 9.00, since they aren't moving 500 kits in 2 weeks, but way more....let's hear some guesses. I'll say 2k kits per week...

Was there any sign that the box had been opened and then sealed back up? I figure you'd spot that right away.

On top of that, if they'd really pulled something out, I'd expect them to include a note explaining the action and the reason the full order didn't arrive.

Honestly, this smells like a fabricated story to me.
The package was entirely sealed with tape and there was no indication of an additional layer, so my answer would be no.

My 2nd gray order just arrived, 2 kits, and oddly 1 of them had only 9 vials inside the box instead of a full set. When I reached out to the vendor to ask why, the response was that 1 had been pulled for testing. After I pressed for more detail, s/he said customs had taken 1 for a test. Has anyone else run into something like this? My thinking is that if customs actually ran a test on the contents, they would have seized the whole package, unless the test was specifically looking for drugs. The vendor threw in a $5 discount on the next order 😀

Curious to hear from you all - is this a believable explanation, or is the vendor someone I shouldn't trust with more orders?

If customs got involved, they'd seize the entire shipment. A few vendors will throw in a complimentary vial of some peptide as a sample when you request it — though that usually requires buying at least 1 kit first. This looks like a case where a vial was removed and the kit never made it over to the sample area. I pull the same trick on my wife: I come home with a pizza, she notices a slice missing, and I just say "Bastards"....
That seems like the most likely reason. The vial slot was almost entirely hidden by the label. I appreciate everyone's feedback, and I hope this doesn't turn into a pattern for EU shipments.

Once the "no source discussion" restriction is lifted, I'll share a vendor review.

Go ahead and use them all. At the very least, you deserved some kind of credit for a future order.

I don't recall the source, but a handful of others have run into this too. Some folks guessed that sellers were removing 1 from every so many orders so they could put together an extra kit when their supply ran thin. Why this began, I have no clue, but if Customs had opened the package, I'd think they would have left some kind of note on it.

In my opinion, they simply failed to include a complete kit and are now acting clueless with you. If customs had taken any interest in your package, it would never have arrived at your door 100%. A human error occurred, and that happens.
Here's the picture that was sent to me prior to packing. The top kit appears full, though it's difficult to tell.

I'm sincerely hoping it was simply a swap and that what you're thinking is right.
The top kit has 1 vial missing from it. Customs wasn't the cause. You got shorted by the vendor. The notion that they'll fix it with the next order really bothers me. It locks me into staying with them. Not doing it. I got taken in by that before. Not happening again.

That's rough that you're dealing with this. Whenever you feel ready or at ease with it, I'd like to see the vendor named.

Now that my no-vendor banner is gone, I can talk about it openly: Furong.

For the missing vial, they put $5 credit toward a future order, yet that doesn't cover even 50% of what the vial is worth.

If that were the case, how come it's only EU and UK deliveries where this keeps happening? Why skip kits headed anywhere else — why not pull 1 vial from each kit, or from every 20 kits, regardless of destination? Based on what I've observed, this pattern shows up only in that particular region. What sense would it make for a vendor to deliberately cause a customer service problem they'd have to fix, costing themselves more down the line? Something bigger is at play here, IMO.

As of now, nobody has a definitive explanation. It remains a puzzle. Only 4 days have passed since the article was published, and no resolution has emerged. Neither scenario adds up.

Yet Another Grey Market Curiosity: The Mystery of the Vanishing Vials

A supplier has flagged a strange trend involving shipments to the EU and UK: boxes showing up with 1 vial absent or vials swapped around. Deliveries to the USA are unaffected, and by his estimate roughly 15 of 70 shipments are impacted, a pattern that has persisted for approximately a month.

That is exactly what makes it so peculiar. Customs tampering is a possibility, but pulling out just 1 vial selectively seems unlikely.

It could also be theft at a warehouse or during forwarding, particularly if packages pass through relay points before they get to buyers.

Perhaps others have run into this too?

Pictures of the kits, provided by a customer who was affected, are included below. You can spot the absent vials as well as the swapped ones

Whenever I hear about this happening, my first thought is that it could be a kit someone sent back after a failed test. Take the refund process: if you test your product and then ask the vendor for your money back, they make you ship the kit to them. I have no doubt those same kits get passed along to somebody else.

If I were the one receiving 9, the paranoid part of me would worry it was one of those returned kits. Then again, maybe a vial just cracked and got removed. No way to know 🤷
Now I'm concerned too. I had no idea that vendors request the batch to be sent back... the tracking via Germany was uneventful, nothing about customs inspections.
Certain sellers—those with a good reputation—have you film yourself breaking the vials. Others, with bad intentions, request that you return them so they can put them back on the market.
