I've noticed those printers in my area, and thanks to you I went and looked into what it actually takes to get set up. Turns out the one near me might not cost anything to use. Head over to youtube and watch a couple of clips about 3D printing and slicer use. That print, since it has no moving parts, ought to finish in roughly 1-2 hours.
At this point it's a given — I'll end up buying one. And I can already tell it's going to turn into yet one more thing I can't stop thinking about.
Watch out, seriously. Before you know it, you'll have 2 printers running nonstop in the background 24/7, and meanwhile you'll be looking at a third one so you can handle really large-footprint models — plus a closet stuffed with filament in every type and color under the rainbow.

Got my first one at Christmas. I've printed all kinds of things for pep research and some are very handy. You just gotta be ready for all the stuff you'll want on top of the printer. ALL the colors! ALL the types of filament! ALL the failed prints you're gonna throw away.
