Why only BTC during a sale?

So, a labor day sale is running from a well known vendor plus a couple of other vendors they are associated with. credit card, bank payment, BTC, or crypto payments were all taken before.

crypto has never been used by me because of the tax shit, so setting it up has been something I've been hesitant about. Looking into it was the next step, and reducing the whole capital gains situation by sticking to a stable coin is what I've read, so whatever stable coin they accept was going to be my pick.

Then, on day one of their sale, "crypto" got dropped by all three of them (the vendors closely associated with each other) and only BTC is taken now. So my question: what makes a vendor cut every option but BTC mid-sale? Is BTC somehow better for the seller? My assumption was that fees and risk in any crypto land on the consumer, so what is the logic? Perhaps the crypto gets held as an investment, hoping it climbs before cashing out, making up for the sale price?
