Which pen needles do you use?

I'm wondering what pen needles people here tend to favor — brand, gauge and length — or whether most just grab whatever does the job and don't care much either way. This is my first pen and I haven't tried it yet. A box of Embecta 31G x 5mm needles just arrived, and the seller also included a few NovoFine, PenFine and EasyTouch needles in various lengths so I could sample them. I'll likely test all of them to see whether any difference stands out, but I'm curious whether anyone has a clear favorite or no strong preference at all.

I normally buy mine on Amazon, though the quality varies — some needles come sharper than others. As for size, I prefer 31g, and I can't decide between 4mm and 5mm.

I usually pick up the Easy Touch 32ga x 5/32, though I recently ordered some EasyDripPlus 32g from Underground to test them out after hearing positive feedback about them.

When I first started with pens, I picked up a sample pack from Underground supply. My advice would be to do the same, since it lets you try a few different brands and sizes.

Right now I'm using the Glucocare 6mm 32g from amazon, and they hold up just as well as the BD needles I had been using, which cost almost three times as much.

A box set me back $22.50, and I figured that was a solid deal. From what I've seen, the name-brand options on Amazon carry inflated prices. That said, plenty of unbranded listings are floating around too, and those make me hesitant to give them a shot.

Mostly I've been going with the Chinese 4 (32G), 5 (31G) and 8 (31G). I also have a set of Terumo 8mm, but honestly they seem worse than the Chinese ones. If you're willing to wait for shipping, the Chinese ones come out quite a bit cheaper, and none of the Western branded options I can get hold of have struck me as better.

Seems I've likely been overthinking this whole thing. Reading the answers, the pattern looks like people simply settle on a cheaper pen needle that does the job and then keep buying it. At this point I have several brands and sizes lined up to test, so I'll experiment with them and find out whether any difference is even noticeable to me.

They're fairly standard, aside from about 1g of difference and +/- a few mm. Right now I'm using 32g 4mm, though a slightly longer one would probably work too.

I just go with the lowest-priced option. Saveritemedical.com sells 100-count boxes for $8-$9. For most peps I use 32 gauge 4mm; for ghk-cu I use 31 gauge 8mm (the longer one stings less); and for testosterone I use 29 gauge 12mm.

Oils require a bigger needle.

Ghk cu seems to welt less when it goes in deeper.

My thinking is that the smallest needle capable of doing the job is the best choice.

That said, I honestly can't tell any difference between one size and the next.
